EBC FIVE Planning Thread

This thread is for all ideas for the EBC TEN list and suggestions on who should be put on it. Please post these if you've got any.

I've got a suggestion - perhaps we should make it the EBC FIVE so it makes it less difficult to decide who goes on the list and we don't have people going "oh, I don't deserve to be there, _____ does."

I was thinking about saying that, but I backed off at the last minute. If we're removing Skizzy from the list, I'd prefer Drecq and NES in joint 5th place.

All looks good, send it to the President and let's see what he says.

Remsol, do you want to write a first draft of the rationale for each person, or should one of us take a stab at it?

Welcome to the April EBC FIVE. You may have noticed we changed from ten to five. This was done to make the list more competitive, and also so we could go into a deeper analysis of each distinguished person on this list.

1. Vinage

Vinage just passed his 400 day mark as WA Delegate, and he continues to be warranted an immense amount of respect and admiration from the region. His dedication to the work he does is hard to replicate, and his ability to communicate his opinions is evident in the influence they have on others. Vinage is an all-star citizen here, and there is no mistaking why he is placed at number one. And not many can say this, but it is a 'side-note' that he is the Minister of Immigration.

2. Common-Sense Politics

CSP is a distinguished member of this region, and his work is placed at a high-mark. As President, he warrants an amount of influence that far surpasses any other position in this region. He is an all out renaissance man
-- three time President, bazillion time Grand Admiral, and a slew of other positions that others would covet if they were placed in them. His ability to get what he wants, while still seeming rational is one of the main factors he has been continually placed on this list.

3. Skizzy Grey

Skizzy Grey is a great leader, mediator, and thinker. His ability to organize and clearly speak his opinions is a great 'pro' in his personality. His work doesn't go unnoticed, and his great legal advice is always sought after.

4. Drexlore Greyjoy

Drexlore Greyjoy continues to be a rising star in Europeia. He did a good job in culture last term, and we look forward to him doing an even better job as Vice President.

5. Tie North East Somerset & Drecq

Idk.

Its pretty rough, but what do you guys think...and I didn't know what to say for NES and Drecq.

It's pretty good. I'd add that Skizzy is responsible for carrying out Europeia's foreign policy and this increases his influence, and Drexlore has his hands on almost all the aspects of Europeia, as Mal mentioned here:
Drexlore - Drex has his fingers on everything (as he should as VP), the Navy, Culture, recruiting; probably a good inclusion.
Perhaps this for NES and Drecq:

Once Drecq became Speaker of the Senate, this part of the Legislative Government seemed to be revitalised. He has overseen a whirlwind of new legislative proposals and has managed to remain on-the-ball during the debates and votes on each and every bill. His effective control over Europeian legislature makes him a very influential figure, which is why he is on this list.

NES is also a powerful member of the Senate. He always has something to contribute to debates which sometimes persuades others to see things his way and can also provide important amendments to proposals. His role as an Administrator as well as being a Senator gives his already high influence a boost, and for these reasons he makes it onto the list with Drecq.

Drexlore Greyjoy continues to be a rising star in Europeia. He did a good job in culture last term, and we look forward to him doing an even better job as Vice President. Suggested additions in red, in the quote.

I like Matt's suggestions for NES and Drecq.

Malashaan - Minister of Culture, and Senator

Add anything you guys want to your positions. Also, I was thinking we should maybe put pictures of the people on the list...that may add some substance to it.

Also, do you guys think we should lock the thread and have all comments directed towards the EBC Wire and Sunday Life comments thread? We could rename that thread to include the EBC five too.

I think including the avatars would be good, as you suggest.

I agree with Matt, just let people comment in thread. We should mention in the wire that the EBC five has been released and link to it though.

Thanks to both of you for your hard work.

I'll mention it in the next WIRE, which I'll release after the CA Chairman Elections have concluded.

And here's the list with avvys.

Would someone be able to make the images the same size? Photobucket isn't letting me resize any of them.

Just played around a bit and putting the avatars in could be tricky without considerable effort resizing the images to make them consistent - I can do that if we think it's worthwhile though. What do you think Matt?

I do agree that it looks pretty great as is.
