My pick for the next President

I know I shouldn't be making political endorsements via our official media sources. But my pick for the next President after this long running one would likely be Elizabeth Warren from the Democratic Party. She's definitely more of a leftist than Obama and less of a war hawk, certainly a better choice in my mind than Hillary Clinton.

Depending on the Republican candidate I could be tempted to support them. The tea party elements within the party make it difficult for a logical choice sometimes within the party but members such as Rick Perry and Jeb Bush have been quite progressive on issues such as prison reform & immigration reform respectively. I know that Rick Perry seemed quite "dumb" last time around, but in my opinion it's pretty cool that he's trying to reduce prison sentences and reduce the prison population in the States.

Anyhow, this title is mainly a false flag to trick and scare people. Who do you think should be the next President of the United States?

Ron Paul? :p
Lunatic Austrian Economic Advocate who sounds like he never attended ay economics classes in his life.
I like Ron because I think hes consistent and honest, but honestly his votes to ban adoptions by same-sex couples and his very strong stance against womens choice in pregnancy frankly -is- a deal breaker for me. Someday I would like to adopt a child, and I dont want a potential President Paul to stop that :/

True. I mean I'm not gay, but htat doesn't mean that just because I have more rights over there, doesn't mean I have the right to limit someone elses right. But Seriously Ron Pauls economic policies suck, only the ignorant or super rich uncaring assholes think the market is perfect.

I'm glad you clarified that you aren't gay. That's super-relevant to this discussion.

If by "honest" you mean "most openly racist national political figure since George Wallace," I can't argue.

Hmm.... most openly racist? Idk... there must be some Republicans more openly racist than him. Isn't there?

None at that level of prominence. If you read some of the stuff he wrote years ago, it's undeniable.

Ron Paul is the only Republican Presidential candidate who addressed the issue that our current drug laws target minorities (especially African Americans) and opposes them.

You shouldn't be able to spend $50,000,000 on politics for ANY reason, liberal of conservative.
Not even hiring assassins election specialists to... er... eliminate those politicians I disagree with? :D

Ron Paul is a dick who would obliterate the world economy to quench his thirst for being stupid and knowing nothing.

It's not even a secret either. I mean there are dozens upon dozens of great scholarly articles all about the way our drug laws indirectly target minorities; the impoverished; and anyone living in the urban environment (and all those categories lump into one another).

I agree with a lot that Paul has to say - like we don't need the post office, the federal Department of Education, and other useless agencies - but there's a lot I don't agree with (like the racism, for one).

Bloomberg is a douchebag. You shouldn't be able to spend $50,000,000 on politics for ANY reason, liberal of conservative. Big money needs to get OUT of politics.
Can you regulate how much the New York Times spends on paper and ink?

Contributions are a closer call, because of the implied quid pro quo involved, and corporate money is a whole other issue, but an individual spending his own money on his own campaign is core First Amendment stuff.

I don't believe the rich should be able self-finance unlimited amounts, sorry.

And I dont believe that he should be able to put $24,000,000,000 into any organization thats goal is to influence, lobby, or donate to politicians and their campaigns. Self financing campaigns and self financing political organizations are very different though.

I dont want my elected representatives to be bought out by special interests or the super wealthy. Donating to campaigns should be a right, but there should be very strong limits. There should be limits on how much you can spend in any given election cycle. Now in America, there is no set limit on how much can be spent, just a per-candidate limit, which allows the Michael Bloomberg's and Sheldon Adelson's of the world to donate $2,500 to EVERY SINGLE Republican or Democratic candidate in the country for -any- office. Thats not counting the tens of millions of dollars that can be given to PAC's.
