HEM's Chief of State Run a Launching Pad for New Imperialism, Sources Say
Sources close to Europeia's founder, grand admiral, and deputy chief of state have reported to the E-News Network that HEM is considering a grand ideological shift for Europeia. "He said he wants 'slave colonies'," one source said. "He kept going on about the grand imperialist tradition in NationStates and the need to launch a 'new Europeian Empire'," the source continued. A former HEM for Chief of State staffer added, "it was clear that he has a drinking problem. I showed up to his office for a meeting, and red solo cups littered the floor. The most surprising thing? They were all his!"
If HEM is truly seeking to fly the Europeian flag over new colonies, it would not be the first time Europeia has sought to influence inferior regions. President Anumia's Grand Architecture Project offered Europeian expertise to developing regions, and the Navy seized colonies in the region's pre-republic days. However, a true imperialist turn would be a dramatic shift in character for the modern Europeia. "Republic, reshmublic," tweeted HEM spokesman Jay Leno. "What we need is excitement and power, and that's what defines imperialism."
At print, the HEM campaign has not yet responded to our request for comment.
