World Assembly News #1

World Assembly News
From the Europeian Broadcasting Corporation, one of Europeia’s premier Media groups.

Keeping Europeians and the world informed since 2009.

So it begins....

Vinage thanks his voters

In what was expected to be a tight race, Vinage came out on top after his rival PASD pulled out saying I'm not going to sweet talk this. I'm pulling out to be Delegate. I've come to realize that Europeia needs someone who ready to be WA Delegate. That person is Vinage.... I know bigger and better opportunities are ahead of me in Europeia. I plan on becoming more politically active now

Vinage, since becoming Delegate, has sought to eclipse the endorsement record set by Abbey Anumia and is currently touching 200 endorsements. Vinage has recently commented to another EBC reporter that he is interested in staying as Delegate for the foreseeable future.

We got this word off Vice-President JGlenn regarding PASD's withdrawal

"Not really. I mean I had a feeling that one of the Candidtates was going to pull out. It was like a game of Chicken. Thats not to say PASD "Chickened out", I think he just realized that there may be bigger oppurtunties ahead for him. If he hadn't pulled out, my vote would have been based off of a coin flip, as both candidates were amazing."

Clean Prostitute Act

Making a Comeback in World Assembly Nations?

Prostitution has been debated on the World Assembly floors for the past few months with Acts coming in and being instantly repelled. Will the Clean Prostitute Act be the final action in regards to Prostitution? Hopefully! The voting has gone completely in favour for the Ayes with nearly 10,000 votes in favour to less than 1,000 against. It has generally been seen as 'the middle ground' as it protects the users of Prostitutes from the harm of sexually transmitted infections. For the more right-wing Governments it does not force them to accept Prostitution while the more liberal nations can add further provisions. Expect to see this Act break the record for the most Ayes.

Condemn New Scorpio

Can't Tell if That Was New Scorpio or This Condemnation

This made it to the floor? Seriously.... why? A victim writing a Condemnation is never going to end well and, those who've stated their opposition to the act, have already been called named. Europeia's own delegate called a Fascist and then a Socialist, along with any others voting this Condemnation down. This Condemnation has just become messy and, hopefully soon, the World Assembly's floor will become free from this nonsense.

One, fantastic, view has come from Goobergunchia

If we're going to condemn nations solely for using a couple nuclear weapons, we'll never finish. The resolution does not indicate that New Scorpio's behavior is anything extraordinary in the NationStates multiverse. Accordingly, I will be voting against this resolution as soon as it goes to vote.

Unibot II - Commendation Material?

Old-Man Unibot Receiving Another Award?

We've all see it coming, eventually a leading Defender was going to be commended for their 'hardwork' and who else was going to be able to get this one than Unibot. Recently Unibot has managed to bring in the 75 approvals needed to get an Act to quorum in less than a single day! For that we applaud his brilliant work in building foreign relations with others. But commending a leading Defender? This is going to be one hot debate and one that will end up stretching NationStates' Raider-Defender lines to the limit. Expect to see tempers flair!

This is really good Vinage, I'm going to ask around to see if it's good for the general section of the NS Forums. They like have clean separation, so I'm not sure if they'd like the WA commentary (they may prefer it to be in the WA sections).

Why thank you! ^_^

Hopefully those NS bigwigs will let this one slide....

I definitely didn't "chicken out". I think its pretty much known why I dropped out. I told you guys I have better things ahead of me. :p

I'm pretty sure leading defenders have been commended before

Eh, Not really. Defenders are better, remember? :p

Without Raiders, defending is irrelevant. I think that raiders that are very good, or do something creative or bring a great deal of excitement to the game should be commended too.

Oh very well said! However it seems Defender solidarity seems to be stronger than Raider solidarity at the moment.

Truly a shame as the two work together hand-in-hand

I would say its because of the mindset that goes into Raiding. Raiders are competing not just with local defense forces, not just with Defenders, but also with other Raiders for prestige, control, fun, etc.

Who needs solidarity when you and your friends are more awesome than anyone else? ;)

Defenders also need to foster a better work-together additude because they're often the reactive force, which means they need more numbers - the reactive force needs numbers more than the initiating force to have the same effect

Well, I wasn't clear enough. By my use of the , I was being critical of the Unibot article, namely the way it seemed to portray this as an uphill battle for him.
