As is with any surprise: they tend to surprise you.
President Aramor vanished from public eye after a partisan debate erupted into allegations of fraud and plotting from both sides. Many people who were already mumbling about removing Aramor, broke into panic over his disappearing act and discussions were brought forth about if he did not return.
Nearing the 72 hours mark, where an unofficial referendum supported handing power over to the next in line, Aramor appeared to give a grim statement which braced everyone in the region for the worse. He did not resign, and instead gave the green light for the next in the Constitutional line of succession to take his place for a week, or until he returns.
The last time that anyone other than the Vice President became Acting President was HEM as Chief of Staff. However, no long term transfer of power has occurred since Lexus took over from Pez201 after the later failed to finish his recruitment assignment. Pez201 eventually resigned, and Lexus became President for the first time.
What has happened before, during and after this fiasco is unclear. However it is clear that succession legislation will so be all the rage after this dreary and foggy debate over preservation of the Presidential line. What an Acting President Common Sense Politics will do is unclear, however he has expressed intentions to just keep the region on track.
An address is expected from him by the end of the night.
