So, About Renaming the Forums for Honoured Citizens...

Also, with my VP masking I just counted 46 subforums which could be renamed. Not all of them are super flashy, but still, if it took us 16 years to hit 30, we have at least another 16 years of forums available to rename, not even factoring in the ever-expanding bureaucracy. I also think we could manage a handful hyphenated titles (maybe not portmanteaus).

I think hyphenated titles in terms of like, combining two people is a bad idea and kind of lame and takes away from the prestige. It's like when the NYT endorsed both Warren and Klobuchar at the same time lol

Yes, fair enough, I just did a quick count. However, that's why I pointed out there is 46, and presumably only a third of those would go in the next 5 years. I would consider 30 renamable.

A lot of those more generalized ones are a non-starter for me, imo. I mean, some of them have held the name for so long and are directly referenced in other material (e.g., Newcomer's Handbooks) that it would make things less intuitive for their primary audience.

Also another thing to keep in mind: any time an Executive decides they want things reorganized and rearranged, we have to possibly archive named subfora and find suitable replacements.

Honestly this makes the most sense to me, but I also don't care enough to say "undo all old names."

It makes little sense (to me) to spend much time and energy trying to figure out how to reorganize the forum to ensure that every Honored Citizen past current and future gets a subforum name.

Perhaps we could revive the Europeian Hall of Fame for this purpose and put the ovation and triumph celebrations into that forum.

I'm also not sure I like retroactively removing HC forum names. I feel like they give a lot more character to the forum. It'd be pretty boring if every single Ministry just had a "(Ministry Name) Conference Room."

I really like this idea too — it can be kind of like presidential libraries in the US? Like the HCs can also customise their own place in the alley

I am fine with Rand's idea about having a specific area like that for everyone since it solves the problem going forward, but I still don't think we should go back and strip the names from everything that currently exists; I kind of like the history that they have, since some of them have been around for years.
