New BBtag: thumbnail

I created a new BBtag that was originally intended for use only in the image repository, but which later I decided may be of general utility.

It allows you to post any image as a thumbnail with maximum dimensions 20px height and 200px width. You can use it as a custom emoticon of sorts, or to create previews to images you link to. Its use is similar to the IMG BBtag.

Here is an example. Say I want to post a thumbnail of my avatar. Then I write,
Code:
[thumb]http://z6.ifrm.com/4812/177/0/a249319/avatar-249319.jpg[/thumb]
which produces,

[thumb]http://z6.ifrm.com/4812/177/0/a249319/avatar-249319.jpg[/thumb]

To contrast it with the IMG tag, I can write
Code:
[img]http://z6.ifrm.com/4812/177/0/a249319/avatar-249319.jpg[/img]
which produces the same image but in its original dimensions,

I am still fine-tuning the maximum dimensions. In particular, I am considering increasing the maximum height to 25px.

There is some potential for abuse. I will be monitoring the use of the new BBtag and if it gets out of hand, I will remove it. Use responsibly.

Note that use of the THUMB bbtag in signatures is strongly discouraged. The THUMB tag uses the browser to resize images at load time, meaning that it can make page loading very slow and disruptive.

If you believe an image is too large to be in your signature, then you should either rescale the file before uploading it, or not have it in your signature, or, at least, put it under a SPOILER/HIDE tag.
