In Solidarity: ERN's Allied Coalition Forms a Stronghold
The Solidarity Occupation and TCB's response analysed

From October 1 until October 18, the Europeian Republican Navy (ERN) occupied the NSLeft Frontier region of Solidarity with a coalition of Defenders and Independents, coordinated by The League, whose leader Quebecshire was awarded the order of Eos for his organising of the operation. The target was chosen because of its role as a recruitment hub for The Communist Bloc’s (TCB) military: the People’s Revolutionary Air Force (PRAF) (PRAF act 2023, Article III, clause 8c).

Staged openly in the Defender jump-point of Artificial Solar System, TCB had every opportunity to spot and intercept the move. As predicted by operation command however, no such effort occurred, and the region was taken without trouble. Before the next update could occur, a massive piler force of over a hundred endorsements was assembled to hold the region against any liberation attempts by TCB. The following updates saw increasingly unconvincing efforts by the PRAF to thwart the capture. Never getting close to the eventual 200+ pile that was amassed in Solidarity, the PRAF found themselves on multiple occasions without a single person successfully updating in the region, even with significant numbers of jumpers (1, 2, 3), before eventually ceasing siege efforts entirely, despite earlier expressed attitudes.

As reported by the ERN and President JayDee, Solidarity has now been locked by password and has started its transition to a Stronghold under Defender control. This will make any future attempts at restoring TCB control impossible, as a Stronghold Governor retains ultimate control over the region independent from the World Assembly Delegate. This transition will conclude what is the largest anti-raider offensive in history.

Far more interesting than the gritty details of the operation, however, were TCB’s reactions to the raid, especially the framing and overarching narrative they used to rally their troops and criticise the regions participating in the occupation. Rather than focussing on Solidarity’s military integration, TCB military officer New Astri (alias Iota) and Air Marshal Mlakhavia (alias Sleet) instead characterised the raid as being motivated by anti-leftism and pro-conservatism (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). This narrative was then echoed by The Social Liberal Union (SLU), who added that occupying forces were in fact supporting fascism, despite Europeia being an ANTIFA member with consistent anti-fascist participation by the ERN. The SLU remains an embassy partner of The East Pacific, South Pacific, The South Pacific, and Thaecia.

Looking over at the other ringleader of raiderdom, the Brotherhood of Malice (BoM), their reaction fell well in line with the already well-established pattern of apathy. Much like their reaction to the occupation of Warzone Trinidad, BoM showed nothing but pride for their inaction. With that in mind, perhaps TCB cannot be isolated in the sense of protection because it already is. With the only significant number of updaters coming directly from the PRAF, TCB finds itself alone in their efforts to protect their military hub from destruction. Were the allies of TCB and SLU in agreement with the purported narrative of fighting against conservatism, anti-leftism, and fascism, would they not have aided the liberation efforts of their frequent military cooperators? As we see time and time again, when Raider Unity does not directly demand it, raiders refuse to stand up for each other.

It’s obvious from the name that TCB has a history of associating all of their military action with the goal of promoting and safeguarding ‘leftism’. While they at one point needed a Europeian leader to step in for their dying military, they now have one of the most significant piling forces behind this narrative. In their view, it stands for Solidarity, and it stands for Magna Aurea, Realm of the Whispering Winds, England, Canada, The Mystical Council, and any future region that will fall victim to their support of BoM and LWU invasions.

Europeia must be prepared to combat these narratives and point out their flawed reasoning. It is not to be forgotten that the war is fought on multiple battlefields: the military one, where the ERN and her allies achieved a great victory, and the ideological one, where only time will tell who takes the smarter approach to bolster their side.

A wonderful recap and some needed background. I actually didn't know TCB had no support from their fellow raider treatied allies. That's really sad. I'd shed a tear but apparently I'm too busy supporting fascism over here.

Oh, you must have forgotten that the full phrase is:
Raider Unity, Maintain a Founder, Sign a Treaty, Ignore Treatied Allies

A sad reminder of our forlorn relationship with SLU.

Great article Vor and nice job capturing the interregional dynamics at play here.
