E-News Network - "ENN Projects Senate Winners"
Written by HEM Tiberius

With forty minutes to go before polls close, ENN has projected that Ogastein and Karthikking have won their elections to the Europeian Senate. After this second by-election, still another Senate seat remains vacant.

The role of the Europeian Senate may become stronger with the return of two strong and committed politicians who are both veterans of the political realm within the region. The regional mood still varies, even after the comprehensive address given by President Rachel Anumia only yesterday.

Aftermath Media has reported mumblings of removal in the form of a Vote of No Confidence in the entire government. This question was included on a recent Inquirer poll.

"I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone in Europeia wanting to remove Rachel," former United Kingdom Prime Minister John Major says, "She has been working her heart out this entire term, and the region knows it. Her only mistake has been in trusting some of the wrong people for high posts. A mistake that the Europeian people made last election in regards of the Senate anyway."

However, the term is half over, and even her supporters agree that time is running out. The navy remains in an inactive state, with culture only limping back to life.

"She hasn't been a leader," Professor Paul Krugman says, "It's what I warned the region about during the last election. Being President is about more than being a super minister. It's about more than 'working hard', it's about inspiring people and coming up with big ideas."

However, Rachel's Administration is far from the only political question within the region. The Senate has struggled to stay awake, despite the prodding of the active Senate Speaker -- Sopo. Discussions on the Constitution have stalled in favor of the City Council's inclusive debate, and little new legislation has even been puttered around.

A full report card on the Senate and the Rachel Administration will be released in a few days.
