Executive End-of-Term Polling - Large Poll Part II

by Gem & Sincluda

Over the span of just two days, 30 Europeians responded to one Large Poll encompassing what's colloquially known as "Smokin'" polling, End-of-Term Executive polling, and Midterm Senate polling. The following are the results of the second of those topics. Enjoy reading about the approval ratings of the upc/GK administration! (no, not that one, the one before that!!)

Contents

Overall Executive
  • Tremendously good. Best stuff since Pland was president.
  • yes
  • This was a step up from the last administration - the Ministries were all on top of their game, and while there haven't been huge, jaw-dropping moments throughout the term, that's probably more of a testament towards the UPC admin's ability to plan long-term and keep the ship sailing in the right direction. Looking forward to what will hopefully be a similar, if not better, third term.
  • They all deserve a third term with all their hard work.
  • Not bad, but nothing new or exciting. The presidents keep the ship afloat and at least he did the minimum
  • Gameside is doing well but forum seems to be stagnating
  • Rockstars for the most part

Overall satisfaction improves from +83.3% net approval at the midterm to +96.7%. All but one poll taker indicated satisfaction with the UPC/GK administration, with the exception voting "Neutral." Over half of all responses were "Very Satisfied." Commenters praised the "rockstar" administration for its hard work, direction, and stability. A couple comments raised concerns over a "stagnant" forum and lack of "new or exciting" things.

President UPC
  • UPC is a GREAT President
  • Fantastic leader, has been very present and supportive of the staff. Only getting better, love EuroCore
  • UPC has done so amazingly this term, wonderful cabinet and an amazing vp.
  • genuinely amazing

One of the highest risers since the midterm is the President themself, going from +86.7% approval to a perfect +100%. The pie chart shows an even split between "Satisfied" and "Very Satisfied" responses. UPC is the first president in a very long time to have a perfect satisfaction rating, marking a historic term. Some of UPC's accomplishments that contributed to this rating includes the development of Eurocore and many more Delegate endorsements, among many others.

Vice President Grea Kriopia
  • Has been incredibly visible not just in her capacity as VP but as a member of the community as well.
  • GK did a great job
  • One of the most active Vice Presidents in ages. Feels like the model for what future VPs should be if they want to combat feelings of invisibility/lack of transparency
  • Such a wonderful person, I want to see GK run for President one day!
  • Active vice president
  • goated with the sauce

Matching UPC and keeping up her streak of perfection is Vice President Grea Kriopia, who also nabs +100% approval. This universal praise is fueled by GK's activity and subverting the norm of VPs lacking visibility. Of note is her management of many major endeavors, such as EuroPride, the Realm of the Whispering Winds transition, and much more. This marks GK's third straight term ending with a perfect satisfaction rating.

Minister of Communications Ellenburg
  • Too little communication (pun intended), put in my Comms application a long time ago and still haven’t been roled.
  • I’m happy with the performance of Comms this term, even if there has been a decrease in overall article quantity.
  • Unfortunate circumstances for Ellenburg, but the ministry is in a great spot with multiple contributors.
  • While dialing back later on, the first three quarters or so of term were quite strong.
  • Ellenburg has honestly been absent lately and it is disappointing but I understand that everyone has a Real life.
  • Ellenburg should've handled the activity issues better
  • AFK - with the talent in the ministry, could be doing more

Ellenburg receives the lowest net satisfaction rating of any cabinet member at +20%, and the only with less than 50% satisfied responses (43.3%). Despite this, no poll takers were "Very Dissatisfied"--23.3% marked "Dissatisfied" and a third "Neutral." Commenters disliked Ellenburg's absence, though understood much of it was for RL reasons. Despite lower article output from the EBC, commenters are not concerned thanks to the larger talent pool in the Ministry.

Minister of Culture Sanjurika
  • we love orange fanter
  • Sanju ran a good, solid Culture term, and while big-ticket items didn't reach the highs of past years, that probably is more of a sign of a larger shift in cultural attitudes than anything this team did different.
  • Been a wonderful Minister to be working with and under. Wonderful attitude and so nice, deserves a second term as MoC
  • Underdelivered in the second half of the term. Sanju probably needs a break.

Minister of Culture Sanjurika maintains a relatively stable net approval at +70%, as 2 "Very Satisfied" votes turn into a "Neutral" and "Don't Know." Earning only one dissatisfied response, Sanju ran a Ministry that handled many big events, such as EuroPride and Republic Day. While one commenter wished to see the Minister return to their post this term, another correctly predicted that Sanju (completing their third consecutive term in the high executive) needed a break, especially after a busier term in Culture.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Maowi
  • go maowi go
  • I 💙 Maowi
  • From a behind-the-scenes perspective, makes so many intelligent contributions. Shoutout for putting us in a spot to expand ambassador responsibilities/roles!
  • One of the most active terms in recent history in terms of ambassador assignments, solid work done and no crises arisen. Loved the new treaty, incredible energy coming out of FA
  • Been a wonderful Minister to be working with.so nice, deserves a second term as MoFA

Improving on their net approval is Maowi, who jumped from +69% to +90%. All but two poll takers were either satisfied or very satisfied with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who handled an active abundance of ambassadors and helped orchestrate Europeia's treaty with The South Pacific (despite a slight naming controversy). Commenters appreciated the energy Maowi brought to a typically opaque role, and for putting the Ministry in a spot to renovate its ambassador corps.

Minister of Outreach Pland Adanna
  • PA did a good job
  • Classic octopus nagging is always welcome.
  • Loved the enthusiasm! PA was a one-octopus machine, recruitment and outreach were clearly golden this term
  • enthusiastic and nice and absolutely wonderful, I expect nothing less from him!!!

The highest achieving Minister and third(!) member of this administration to receive +100% approval is Minister of Outreach Pland Adanna. PA led a unique recruitment game and saw an incredibly impressive 29 recruiters throughout the term. Receiving praise for his enthusiasm, the octopus' well-renowned "nagging" brought about a successful eleventh hour charge for 60000 telegrams on the term.

Attorney General Calvin Coolidge
  • Gets things done on time!
  • Calvin has done an amazing job as AG, I expect nothing less and will expect to see him next term.
  • active, ambitious, aspirational

Recently elected to the Senate, Calvin Coolidge served a well-regarded term as Attorney General, netting +80% approval. Commenters appreciated the punctuality from the Office, which most notably produced a lengthy legislative assessment deconstructing a bill on approval voting, leading to its veto.

Minister of Gameside Andusre
  • Andusre was a Great MoGA
  • Has completely revived the Ministry and has made it probably the most active at the moment.
  • Brewede up a proven formula for Gameside, did fantastic work and has absolutely shown that he knows how to navigate this Ministry. Second term Andusre would be fantastic
  • Has put so much work into Gameside and even opened up more ventures for Staffers to do. Deserves a second term as MoG for sure.

Minister of Gameside Andusre earns high marks all around, moving from an already stunning +90% approval rating in June to an incredible +96.7% this time around. Andy received particular praise for the sheer amount of work they've put into their ministry, its unprecedented level of activity, and the increased opportunity for staffers it presents. Clearly, after a rocky initial Senate confirmation, Andy has won over even the most cynical of skeptics.

Grand Admiral Sincluda
  • Nethel Bless GA Sincluda and his Navy
  • bless :euro:
  • Good work out of the ERN - quieter this term but also growing much more successful, with fantastic new blood and operational success
  • Sincluda and his Navy has done an amazing job with 11 ERN sailors showing up at certain times. One of the best GA's ever.

Staying fairly steady at an impressive +93.4% net approval rating, Grand Admiral Sincluda is once again one of the most popular cabinet members in the executive. Comments highlight their work in bringing new blood into the ERN, and achieving a promising rate of operational success.

Minister of Radio Xecrio
  • We've gotten some pretty nice shows lately, happy to see the foreign collaboration!
  • Radio shows were great, a bit of a dip halfway through but plenty of activity!!
  • Xecrio has been an amazing Radio Minister and under you, shows were being scheduled and produced and everything on its own
  • I really appreciate his efforts to keep things active, I know it's not easy

Despite the minister's public pessimism over their prospective poll results, Xecrio outperformed all expectations, climbing from +58.6%--the lowest approval rating in the cabinet in June--all the way to a tremendous +90% net approval as the term came to an end. Although Xecrio did not return to cabinet with the second upc/GK administration, they expressed their satisfaction with the result, saying on air it was "probably" their highest ever approval rating as a minister.

Minister of World Assembly Affairs SkyGreen
  • Like Andy, has completely revived the Ministry.
  • Fantastic upkeep on the IFVs and in the Ministry in general, excellent delegator and wonderful manager
  • Skygreen has been a wonderful MoWAA and getting everything out on time. Deserves another term.
  • i think i did good

SkyGreen holds up the end of this list with another strong improvement--going from +69% net approval in June (nice)--to +90% at the end of last term. Sky receives glowing praise for revitalizing a stagnating ministry, with consistent and on time IFVs (information for voters) once again being the norm. One commenter, who proclaimed that Sky "deserves another term" will surely be pleased, as Sky was recently confirmed to a consecutive term as Minister of World Assembly Affairs by the Senate.

Cabinet Role Reprisal

Europeians were impressed by last term's Cabinet and would like to see most return, with all but 2 members getting over 60%. The two that did not were Ellenburg, the lowest polling minister, and Xecrio, who had already expressed that they would not return. Two earned scores in the 80s; Grand Admiral Sincluda (86.7%) and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maowi (80%). Three members from the previous Cabinet returned for this one (Sincluda, SkyGreen, and Andusre), and one (Ellenburg) switched roles.

New Cabinet Picks

Who else would you like to see in the next Cabinet, in what position?
  • Caldrasa (outreach) Industan (WAA)
  • Gem, Prov, fm, Lethen, NES, nlhp
  • Not sure. Most of the region I'd love to see in cabinet.
  • Prov - Minister of Radio Cal - Minister of Outreach Air - Minister of Gameside Minister of World Assembly Affairs - fm
  • Kasa, Gem
  • FM full term in WAA?? (or Radio); Air in Gameside or Culture
  • westinor, sopo

Poll takers had a variety of suggestions for new Cabinet members, focusing on newer, up-and-coming stars like Caldrasa and Kasaria. Citizens with multiple mentions include Prov (Radio), Filet Minion (WAA), Air (Gameside, Outreach, and Culture), and Gem, who was included in the next Cabinet as Minister of Radio.

Presidential Voting Analysis

27 out of 30 poll takers voted in the May 2024 election between UPC/GK, Sincluda/Gem, Caldrasa/August, and JL/Prov. Two thirds voted for UPC/GK, roughly a quarter for Sin/Gem, and the others received one each. However, the JL/Prov ticket did not actually receive a vote in the election, making for an awkward result here. With the UPC/GK ticket receiving 100% approval and the administration as a whole being 1 vote shy of that, most UPC voters were content with their choice. Supporters of other tickets flipped to UPC/GK, though Sincluda/Gem still maintained some fans regardless.

I'd love to know what Minister role I'd be qualified for 😅
