On January 7th, 2017 it came to my attention via a third party that Possibly This had claimed to have received a threatening email related that reference his activity in Europeia.
Within a few hours, I spoke to Possibly This about his claim. Possibly This informed me that there was a second email as well, the alleged contents of both which have now been openly discussed in Europeia.
Here are some facts that we have deemed vital to the public interest:
Possibly This has provided the Administrative Team with some information about the alleged emails. This information is not sufficient to reach any definitive conclusions. We are currently in the process of obtaining additional information from Possibly This that can help further the investigation into what happened.
As we informed Possibly This, there are other resources available to members in these unfortunate situations, such as the support staff at Google Inc. and local law enforcement agencies. If you ever feel threatened, we encourage you to look beyond just the Administrative Team for support.
Separately, but related, Possibly This has made claims of harassment to resign “en masse.” We have not been provided with any evidence to substantiate these allegations. It is also important to remember that the doctrine of fair comment typically allows public figures to be questioned at a higher level than a non office holder. While the election of Possibly This did attract some public (and perhaps private) criticism, nothing we have seen at this time rises to the category of “harassment.”
As always, we remain receptive to new information. This investigation remains open for that information to come forward, but due to the now very public nature of these allegations, we felt it necessary to provide our current assessment.

- Email addresses are not accessible to non-administrators on ZetaBoards platforms. ZetaBoards allows email correspondence, but only through the “email” field on a user’s profile. At no point is the email displayed to any person.
- No email correspondence was sent to Possibly This through Europeia’s forum. Emails sent through the above forum mechanism are automatically logged by ZetaBoards, and no email to Possibly This is present in the logs.
- The email address where Possibly This allegedly received his threatening email is not the one he used to register his account on Europeia’s forum, and has never been associated with that account. It is impossible for anyone, including administrators, to get access to that email address through forum functions.
- The same email address is accessible, however, through an exploit of an NS-related, non-forum platform that Possibly This has used. It is reasoably likely that the address was made public to a select number of people through those means.
