"Shortly after Huxwell's proposals for reforming the University of Europeia, I came to a sudden insight to why newcomers find it so hard to integrate, and why old members often find newcomers aggravating. I thought that the difference between the two was key, in particular, their differing experiences in Europeia. Old members have a wealth of experience to draw from: they are likely to have encountered the debate previously and have taken part in a pilot of an idea. Newcomers on the other hand do not have this experience. There is an experience asymmetry {8874935,74}.

When the annual debates about restructuring the university, creating an economy, instituting a direct democracy, come around through excited (well-meaning) newcomers, old members are reluctant to rehash old arguments {1272220, 3}. A repeat of a debate is time-consuming and error-prone. A repeat wastes much time in the already time-poor citizens of NationStates and a repeat is often done half-hardheartedly (so much so, it would probably be better not to have repeated it!).

"It is no good to continually knowingly and unknowingly rehash old arguments and cover ground that has already been once covered." {8874935,74}

This is quite the bleak picture of Europeian discourse, but I believe it can be remedied. Because, theoretically, the problem is with an experience asymmetry, a leveling would allow newcomers to participate in the debate well and real progress can be made. This work is an attempt to level that experience asymmetry with regards to the University of Europeia."

About the article: it's a great read, though I think a second pair of eyes sifting out possible grammar and puctuation errors could've made it even more splendid If you want to, I could check your next article - just have to post it in MinnComm.

I appreciate it and will take you up on that. I try to keep a unique flow to my style but I understand if there are grammar/ punctuation errors... They're not my strong suit! :baghead:

That's partially my fault. Toasty submitted it to me for a look over, but I just did a review of the content/fixed major issues. In the future I'll proofread for grammar/spelling as well. Was busy and got lazy
