Euro Weekly has now updated its predictions in light of recent events in the Senate. Based on our updated predictions, Darcness's ovation is now considered a toss-up with the odds of the Senate rejecting the Ovation having increased significantly. Due to the inaccuracy of our original predictions, it should be noted that we have taken a far more conservative approach with our updated predictions. It should also be noted that the "Abstain" category has been removed from the table below, and that Senator Darcness remains the only Senator within this category.

Both Speaker Lloenflys and Senator Calvin Coolidge have reaffirmed their intention to vote "Aye", and both have argued strongly for passing the Ovation. Therefore both Senators remain as "Solid Aye" predictions. Senator Deepest House has taken on a far more questioning role and has appeared, through his language, to be more open to the idea of opposing the Ovation. He has questioned the language of the Awards and Honours Act, asking if Admin work could be considered a civilian act and therefore if the Ovation was an appropriate award for this work. He has also stated, "I don’t want anyone to think that I’ve made a decision one way or the other on this." Therefore we have moved Senator Deepest House into the "Unknown" category as it is unclear how he may vote. Senators Olde Delaware and Rotasu have also been moved into the "Unkown" category. While Senator Rotasu has indicated he will vote in favour of the Ovation by liking a post made by Speaker Lloenflys in favour of the Ovation, he has not made a single comment on the matter and we are no longer comfortable in making a prediction without Senator Rotasu commenting on the matter himself.
Senator Olde Delaware has not said anything within the Senate regarding Darcness's Ovation since his original post where he stated that he was in favour of the Ovation. Since his original comments, much has changed regarding the Ovation and we therefore believe it is possible that Olde Delaware may have changed his opinion and until he either reaffirms his intention to vote "Aye" or announces that he will now by voting against, we are classifying Olde Delaware as an "Unkown" vote. Senator Darcness has remained in the "Abstain" category. Senator Sopo who was considered a "Lean Nay" vote has now firmly come out as a "Nay" vote, saying that he believed Senator Darcness's political work has not yet risen to the level required to be awarded an Ovation. He had previously made clear that he believed OOC work should not be awarded IC awards and therefore he would only be considering Darcness's IC political work for the Ovation.
The biggest development has been the change of opinion by Senators Prim and Peeps. Both were considered "Solid Aye" votes given their public comments within the Senate, however, both have now stated that they will oppose the Ovation. Senator Prim raised concerns that to award the Ovation would set a bad precedent and therefore he would vote no. He said that he hoped to see Darcness renominated in the future based solely on his political work. Senator Peeps said he been "swayed" and would be voting no. He made similar comments as Senator Prim saying he was "positive [Darcness's] ovation will come."
