The Last Journey - IC

Andrew/Erin looks at the nutrient bars, and frowns a bit at the fact they apparently don’t taste well. “Definitely not the most welcome food after being frozen for who knows how long, but I won’t complain. And hey, once we get to the greenhouse, I can help cook, I used to cook for leisure and still remember some fun skills to improve the quality of food.” Once the cans of paint are brought out, Andrew/Erin grabs the purple and blue, plus a tiny bit of red, and sets it by the door for decorating their room, before sitting back down again. Then, they spot the picture of Luxia and Ryan as kids, noting that Luxia is actually listed as a boy named Luxin. This reminds them of their own experience of going from a boy to their current non-gender state. Curious, but also nervous, they look up at Luxia and ask, “you were a boy once too?” Erin looks back at the picture again, then back at Luxia, gently getting up and walking towards her, keeping a smile to show their support.

Luxias Smile Falters ever so slightly, showing that she doesnt really Like talking about this Subject. Still her demeanor remains Happy when she answers. "Yeah I was." She says. "I was Born as a boy, but I never really felt Like a Boy. I think i always knew that I wasnt a boy. And I was right. Im much happier with how Things are now." She steps to Take the Picture from Erin and Looks at it. The Smile on her face brightens again. "I really looked ridiculous as a Kid." She says, more to herself and puts the Picture on the Table, before going Back to Grab the Paint cans. "Now lets Paint your door, shall we?" Suddenly, the Lights dim themselves strongly. "Oh its Evening." Luxia remarks. Seeing Andrews confusion, she explains: "The ships Main light System Has an internal Timer to Simulate the Passing of time. Probably so that its passengers went to sleep at a normal time. The Main system will fully Go Out in 30 Minutes, but dont worry, there will still be Other light sources around."

Andrew/Erin nods a bit, still hesitant about the question, and embarrassed after seeing that it made Luxia’s smile falter. “Sorry if I, uh… made you a little off. I just was curious, and I must say, your transition has gone well, and I’m so happy you feel like who you’re supposed to be now.” After a moment, carrying the cans outside to their new room’s door, they smile a bit and say “I kinda have a similar story, but I didn’t go all the way, and mine was a… natural occurrence. But still, even before I started to become more feminine, I had a feeling that I was never happy as a boy, but I never really was satisfied with ditching it. I’m happy the way I am too, I look more like a woman, but I still am anatomically a guy.” Erin then gives a gentle hug to Luxia, happy to both support her and to have someone with a somewhat similar experience. From there, they open the cans of paint, gently stroking on purple and blue, separated by thin lines of red. Now, they write their name on the door, written as ‘Erin/Andrew Roberts.’ They stand back, smiling a bit. “Well, there we are… the door is painted.” They look over at Luxia to see her thoughts.

Luxia keeps her smile, now more bright. "You have nothing to apologize for. Its okay to be curious." She listens to Erin, as they explain their own Story. "I'm also happy that you feel like who you're supposed to be now." She returns their hug and then also grabs a paint brush. While the 2 are painting, she Talks a bit more about her experience. "Technically I am also still anatomically male. I never got the chance to do surgery, before everything fully collapsed. But I am fine with that. I take hormones and I am happy with how things are developing." She finishes another letter. "The Others on the ship have known for quite some time. I think Ryan had his suspicions before I had them myself." She chuckles. "Everyone here has been accepting of me. Its amazing. I am glad that these are the people I am stuck with." They finish painting the Name. Luxia looks at her watch. "We still have a bit of time before the ship enters nightmode and even when it does there will still be enough lightsources. Want to continue the tour? We could also do something Else if you prefer."

Andrew/Erin smiles, nodding at the request to continue the tour. “Yeah, we should probably continue touring before lights go out. Once we’re finished, I’m gonna probably have to eat something, I’ve been starving since I came out of the pod, and may as well be acquainted with these nutrient bars and whatever else this ship has as food. Once we’re done with that, is there anything you wanna do together?” As Luxia starts walking, they follow close by, staying at her side as they walk by the upcoming parts of the tour

Luxia takes Andrew down a flight of stairs. "Unfortunately we dont really have anything Else except the bars. Nothing that is edible in its current atleast. We have some Seeds and stuff." They continue down a hallway. "As for Things we can do after this, hmm" she thinks. "Do you like games? As in Board games. Ryan has a lot of those and I sometimes play with him. They arent really on Boards anymore, they are mostly Digital, but they are fun. And I think they would be more fun with more players. Plus you can get your Chips back." They reach the end of the hallway, a large worden door. Luxia pushes it open. "Welcome to the Ballroom. This Was the place where people ate and danced and held festivals." You could still see some of the rooms Former splendor, even though it had aged. The floor was covered in red and Golden Carpet, chandeliers hung from the Ceiling and the tables, of which there still were a few that had been moved to the side, were covered in Fanny white sheets. There even Was a bar. But still the age was clearly showing. The Carpet was worn out, some tables were already decaying and there was dust everywhere. Still the room looked nice.

Andrew/Erin smiles at the suggestion of games, “yes, I love board games, and I’d have some amazing people to play them with.” Once the two enter the ballroom, they gasp at how nice it looks, even with some of the old stuff being a little worn out. “Wow, this is amazing, so grand. Give this room a little polish and you could host parties and weddings and ceremonies and other stuff in here.” Erin almost sways to a waltz beat as they walk around the room, imagining a dance in here. Maybe some day they’ll be dancing in here with music. Then, they twirl, before stopping and walking back over to Luxia, ready to continue the tour. “Yeah, this is really cool, definitely lucky to have a nice place to stay up here in space.” They look at Luxia with excitement, ready to see the rest of the tour and to play some games with her and Ryan later

"Yeah we really lucked Out with this. There were a lot worse Options." Luxia says as she begins Walking again. "Honestly I'm surprised we managed to get this ship working, its ancient. But Sil is apparently a magician. Maybe it had to do with the ship being in a Museum and thus Not decaying as fast." They Open a door and Go down another small flight of stairs. "This is why this ship is also Not a rotting mess. It actually got taken care of." They enter one of the ships old kitchens. Like in the ballroom, everything is looking old and rusty, but this room doesnt compensate for that with Glamour. Instead it Just Looks Like what it is. An old, somewhat neglected room. "This is one of the kitchens as you might have guessed. We dont use it." Before continuing she asks. "Is there anything specific you want to See? We can Go to anywhere in the Ship."

Andrew/Erin looks around the empty kitchen, nodding at the fact that it isn’t used anymore. Once the two leave the empty kitchen, they think about Luxia’s question for a moment before saying “before we play games with Ryan, maybe show me the medical bay in case any of us get hurt, need/want a surgery, or get infected. That’s probably the last place I feel I need to see before we have fun.”

"We use SNSR" Forus answers. "It’s a fairly old System developed by the French Stations. You familiar with it?" He waves Hendrik towards Ethans Navigation System. "Take a look please. The system is C'est de la merde, as its French makers would say." Ethan clears his throat. "Yeah the System isnt the best, too put it mildly. Its planetary positions are sometimes outdated and its data is incorrect. In our Tests we sometimes had to switch to manual calculations based on visuals. So Forus wants to be extra careful with any data it spits out. So if you could double check it that would be great."
“Hmm, I only really heard about it a few times in college, but I think I might be able to help make the system a bit more reliable." Hendrik steps in closer, "It looks a bit like ASNC but with added controls and better graphics. To update ASNC you need a computer with updated info, some cables, a knowledgeable amount of info on the system, and a toolbox. Since this looks like it, doing the same thing might work."

Luxia nods. "Yeah good idea. The medical wing is in the area where you all woke up, since we just put your pods in there. Follow me." she leads Erin to the area. "The medical area is where I spent a large part of my time. Our laboratories are also in that area and I am there often to do experiments on various Things. And I am officially the ships medical professional, since I am the closest they had." They arrive in the medical wing, which is a floor above where the Group woke up. It contains multiple rooms and is surprisingly well equipped, almost like a Mini hospital. "The medical Equipment was one of the few things that managed to remain undamaged in.." she stops realizing that no one had actually told Erin what had happened that left a Single digit number of humans in the solar system. And she didnt want to be the one to explain it to them. She wasnt suited for that and would probably break out crying. It was too soon to talk about it

"If you could improve it that would be great." Ethan says. "I hate this stupid System and its unreliability." He continues, as he walks over too a Box of technical supplies they keep in the Cockpit. Ryan had insisted on it being there and had also provided a toolbox. "We should have all the parts you need. As for the Info, we will need to Check." He starts digging through the Box. "Ryan probably has something. The guy hoards everything." Forus pulls out his Transponder. "Hey Ryan, do you copy?" He only has to wait a few seconds before a "Yeah, whats up?" Comes over the radio. "Do you have anything on the SNSR System and how it works? We need that." "Hang on I'll check." The Radio goes silent for around half a minute. Ethan has meanwhile found the necessary objects. Then finally Ryan Comes back on. "I have a manual, but its written in some Cyrillic language. Maybe you can find a good Translation Programm." A few moments later Forus Computer indicates a new message. Ryan sent him the files. "Lets see if we can work with this." Forus says and begins the work on translating the pages. "You dont happen too speak Russian, do you?" He asks Hendrik.

Andrew/Erin looks around at all the supplies, amazed at all of the stuff saved. When Luxia pauses, they wonder why she does, but soon connects the dots. To avoid the discussion about it, they simply say “in the tragedy, yes. (Erin refers to it as “the tragedy” even though they don’t know what happened, just as a term to describe the situation). I don’t know what happened, but I will say it’s a miracle that we have all of this stuff, and that we have amazing people like you running these things.” They then look around the space, clearly thinking of something deep, but eventually looks back over to the door of the medical bay and then says gently, “So, I guess that’s the tour. Should we head off to find Ryan and have some fun with board games?”

"Nice to meet you Felix." she lets go off his hand and looks at the flowers. "I love plants." she says. "Caring for them is my favorite Activity. So when we arrived here I had to plant something here aswell. Saeq says it’s a waste of resources, but honestly he is just wrong." She walks over to the Bed, takes the watering can next to it and begins watering the flowers. "So what brings you here? Did you just want to see some plants, or isnthere another reason?"
“Really, just the plants” Felix pauses. “What all seeds do you have here? This entire room appears to be filled with them. And what kind of flowers are those? And I’m sorry if I’m being too inquisitive, but how do you have viable soil? It would have to have all kinds of bacteria and enrichments, and if earth collapsed, I doubt mars or anywhere else we may have colonized would have good enough soil for any earth plants. Unless, of course, that’s something you can simply synthesize.”

"Yeah Board Games Sound great." Luxia says, still sounding a Bit Out of it. They leave the medical wing again and head towards Ryans Room. On the way there Luxia goes Back to her normal self. "Im Sure the Board Games will be fun. Ryan will probably try too hard to win, but that wont be an issue. Sometimes it can even make the Things more fun." They continue Walking. "Also If He acts arrogant towards you, Just mention it to him, He will Stop. I think He subconciously considers himself to be better then others, but I am working with him on that and he atleast tries to Stop himself from doing that." They arrive at the Floor with all of the rooms again, Not the Floor where they Had Last Seen Ryan. "Oh yeah, that Room was Just a Room where Ryan Stores various technical Things He Just owns. And He owns a lot of them. He sleeps on this Floor aswell." Luxia explains. Infact Ryans Room is only 3 doors down from the room Erin picked. "Well lets Hope He is Back." Luxia says as she knocks.

"This particular soil is from a small supply I personally own. This soil was infact synzhesized, but this ship Lacks the technology for that, so Im Just using the supply I have left. It could probably sustain this Patch for a few months." Sil explains. "These are Tulips, btw. As for the Rest.." she Points at the shelves behind her. "A large Part is various forms of food and oxygen producing plants. But there are also a lot of Other plants there. Grass, flowers, Moss, just basically the entire remaining seed Reserve we Had. We will need the foods to survive this Trip actually. We dont have enough food Reserves to make it too Our Destination. Thats why we need the Machines we will Pick up Enceladus." She finishes watering the plants

Andrew/Erins nods, “yeah, I’ve been waiting so long for some fun, it’ll be nice to relax, sit back, and play some board games.” They look out at the hallway, seeing their and Luxia’s rooms next to each other, and then Luxia pointing nearby to Ryan’s room. As Erin walks with Luxia, a bit of their white hair falls on their face, but they don’t realize it really. They watch as Luxia knocks on Ryan’s door, feeling very calm now in contrast to the crying earlier. “I’m looking forward to being with you all for however long it takes us to reach a new habitable planet,” they say smiling.

"I will enjoy the time aswell." Luxia says smiling, before knocking again. A muffled "Yeah,Yeah I'm coming." Came through the door. A few moments later, a tired looking Ryan opened it. "Oh, its you Lux." His eyes fall on Erin. "And the New Kid. What do you want?" Erin thinks its a bit odd that Ryan called them Kid, considering they looked to be the same age. Luxia Was meanwhile answering Ryans Question: "Oh great Monsieur Coe, we are but humble visitors, who would like to see and perhaps play with your priced Boardgame collection." Ryan chuckled. "Sure, why not. Come in you 2." He opens the door further and takes a step to the side to let the 2 in. Ryans Bedoom, like his Storage Room, is a mess. Clothes and various other objects are lying around in various random locations. The Rest of the room looked similarly disheveled. Various technical looking stuff, probbaly Ryans current Projects were laying around on his desk. Erin also spots their Chip Box. "You should really clean up your room." Luxia remarks. "You say that everytime, Lux. When will you give up?" Ryan asks as he begins searching for something. "Never." Luxia said with a Mock-combative Tone." Ryan himself looked similar to his room. His hair was disheveled, he looked tired and his clothes were a mixture of pieces that definitely did not fit together and looked as if he had slept in them. Luxia notived all that. "Were you sleeping already? I cant believe you would go so bed so early." she remarks a smirk on her lips. "It wasnt willingly. I was focused on the Chips of that guy over there-" he points at Andrew, -and then the Sleep suddenly came over me." Looking at Ryans Bed, there is indeed the Holographic projector Ryan had found in his storage room, now shut off however. Ryan seeminly found what he was looking for and Pulled out a different Holographic Projector, this one wider, aswell as a Box filled with some Kind of Cartridges. "There we go." He says and brings the 2 Things over to the table in the middle of the room, which was surprisingly somewhat clean. Luxia also makes her way towards the table.

Andrew/Erin does ponder about being called “kid”, probably since they’re new, but if the name sticks, it’ll be confusing since all 3 of them look about the same age. They walk into the messy room, looking around at all the junk. They think to themself “This is like the Martian dorms all over again” before chuckling a bit. They then say “Also, Ryan, if you don’t know my name yet, it’s Andrew… but I also go as Erin, mostly Erin though.” They walk back to a nightstand and retrieve their cartridges, checking to see if they’d been tampered with (if any data was removed) Seeing them in quality condition, and with all the original data inside, they slide it into their pocket and walks over with Luxia to the table. “So what kinds of board games do you guys have? Stuff from Earth? Mars games? New games I never knew of? What sorts of games?” They start to get excited, finally having friends to play games with again.

"No, I don't speak Russian, but whatever you can translate will probably be enough. Until then let's crack this boy open, shall we?" Hendrik takes a screwdriver and opens the bottom of the control panel, he then takes a flashlight out of the toolbox and shines it inside, "Well I think I found the port for the computer, but I need to know what I will have to adjust from the manual." He takes the computer and the cable and attaches them together, then tries to plug it into the port. "Hmm, you got an adapter for the port?"

"I think you told me your Name when we first met." Ryan says, though he isnt so sure himself. "Okay for Games, I have a variety of them. Earth,Mars, the vast distance inbetween, everything. The cartridges are pretty new, well most of them, but some of the Games might be even older then this Ship. Lets see.." His hand glides over the cartridges before Picking one seemingly at random. He takes it out. This one Looks a little older, but you can still read its Name written on it with Yellow Letters. "Catan" Ryan reads out loud. "Yeah that falls into the latter category I mentioned previously. Truly ancient. But a good game." He Puts the Cartridge into a slot on the Holoprojector and it begins booting up. "Now let me quickly explain the rules." He says. But before he can start, Luxia interrupts him. "While I am sure Andrew would be delighted to hear that from you, they do need to be awake to play the game." She smirks. Ryan just looks at her, a Mixture of Amusement and annoyance on his face. "Haha, very funny, Lux. I will definitely kick your ass in this game now." "Yeah,Yeah" Luxia says while making a dismissive Gesture. Then she turns to Erin. "Maybe you know Catan already, but I will explain the basics and you can figure out the Rest while we play. Learning by doing." She begins with her Explanation.

"No, I don't speak Russian, but whatever you can translate will probably be enough. Until then let's crack this boy open, shall we?" Hendrik takes a screwdriver and opens the bottom of the control panel, he then takes a flashlight out of the toolbox and shines it inside, "Well I think I found the port for the computer, but I need to know what I will have to adjust from the manual." "Hang on let me check." Ethan rumages through the Box. "Yeah, here it is." He says, pulling out the Adapter and handing it to Hendrik. Forus had meanwhile run the Ships Translator over the Text a few times and now had a Result that looked correct enough. "Okay, I think I have the Translation." He prints it out and hands it to Hendrik. "Can you work with that? If not we could maybe call Ryan to Help out aswell." He looks at Hendrik expectantly, waiting for the Mans next Move
