Special Report: Former Minister Exposed
Why did Vulturret resign his citizenship?

Written by Astrellan

(May 16, 2019) - On Friday, May 10, former Minister of Culture and longtime citizen Vulturret surprisingly posted a complete resignation from his citizenship in the grand hall. This was met with shock and confusion by many Europeians.

In the mentioned post, Vulturret did not give many reasons for his sudden step back, simply saying that he made a decision “that was very poor in form and very foolish.” He also mentioned how further details would be posted in NationState’s Gameplay forum, which, 16 hours later, did happen.

Vulturret, who is also Prime Minister of Balder and the Emperor of The Ragerian Imperium, concealed a homophobe, leaker, and overall shifty individual who also made serious, yet false, out-of-character accusations towards other players. Called Moneyness, they were concealed under the name “Jake,” a persona who was given a high-level officer role in The Ragerian Imperium.

Vulturret expressed huge regret about his decision, stating that “it was [...] extremely misguided and ill-informed” and that he would decide on “removing [himself] from all positions of power in Nationstates and leaving for this atrocious act.”

The Gameplay community’s response to this statement has been mixed. Many are infuriated after finding out Jake the Snake was actually a much-disliked player, with one user calling him “poisonous” and another mocking his statement about being a “changed man.” As for Vulturret, many have expressed “huge disappointment” in him and state he should have “known better.” Despite this, some users wish for him to stay on NationStates and attempt to recover from this act, saying they "wish [they] would see him again" and others saying that he "is one of the nicest folks in the game."

Senator Astrellan, Europeia’s ambassador to The Ragerian Imperium, stated that following Vulturret’s resignation the region entered a quiet state of chaos. After losing their two highest officials, many in the Imperium were distraught and confused. Throughout this mess, Imperial Councillor Aav attempted to minimise the damage caused and attempted to organise the region with this huge event on their shoulders. Subsequently, Aav has been named Emperor of the Imperium, as well as a host of other titles.

Europeia has reached out to support the new leader in his role during this troubled time, with Chief of State Kuramia personally speaking with Aav and offering an ear and advice. Many citizens of the Imperium are saddened about this change of events within the region, but community spirit has been strong and Astrellan reckons the region will get stronger throughout this ordeal. Indeed, positive changes and rebranding have already happened so soon after the event and the region looks to be in a better state already.

It is as yet unclear whether Vulturret intends to leave NationStates all together. There have been no other posts on the Gameplay forum by him at the time of writing.

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to correct the spelling of Moneyness’ name.

From what I've heard, yes, and I think also from what I've heard, that he responded, but he's definitely pulled back from the game.
