With the Europeian General Election now looming, 4,000 words conducted a poll to get an idea of where each candidate currently stood, but more so, to determine if it is currently possible to identify who the winners may be. There were a total of 27 respondents to the poll which was open for 24 hours from Sunday 1st November until Monday 2nd November. Pollsters were asked three questions. The first asked each respondent to state who they are planning to vote for. The second question leads on from the first, as is there to decide how comfortable each candidate is in their current position. The final two questions asked respondents to state which Senators they would like to see serve another term, and which citizens if any, they would like to see run.

The first question will be divided into three categories, firstly, the frontrunners. The frontrunners are the candidates who we believe will almost certainly win a Senate seat, and that the other candidates will have to work hard to knock them off their perches. The candidates in this category are Lloenflys and SkyGreen24 who both returned 17 votes or 63% of the total. In comparison to the poll conducted by EuroWeekly, Lloenflys gains three more votes compared to the 14 that stated they would like to see him run. SkyGreen24 remains on 17. It is, however, important to note that the poll conducted by 4,000 words received 4 more responses than that done by EuroWeekly.

The second category shall be named the likelihoods. These are the candidates who have a strong chance of winning but could be overtaken in the last few days if they are not careful. The candidates that fall into this category are Xecrio with 51.9%, Lime with 48.1%, and JayDee with 37%. While these three candidates are likely to win a seat in the Senate, 4,000 words believe it is too early to be able to identify a full Senate as changes can occur in the last few days of campaigning.

The final category is the could be’s. The candidates in this category are currently unlikely to see themselves elected to the Senate based on current polling. However, should these candidates campaign well in the final few days, there is a high possibility for at least one of these candidates to move up to the second category. Bronyleader with 29.6% of the vote, Baobab with 33.3% of the vote, and Emporer Kharn with 25.9% of the vote also fall into this category.

The next question determined how stable each candidate is in their current position. Very received 12 votes as did somewhat, not very received 3. Not at all received none, which indicates that pollsters may not choose to change their minds drastically. Nonetheless, the large proportion of respondents that chose somewhat highlights the fact that potentially no candidate is safe, and that there is a significant possibility of a swing to the unlikely candidates before polls open on Friday.

Although no current Senators are seeking re-election this term, 4,000 words wanted to get an idea of how each Senator would look should they decide to re-run. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Malashaan garners the most support here with 16 votes or 59.3% of the total. Istillian and Josi fall just behind with 48.1 and 37% of the total. Senate Speaker Darkslayer and his fellow Senator Aexnidaral return with only 8 votes out of 27, and Forilian comes back on 6.

Finally, we asked respondents to say who they would like to run who isn’t already running. HEM, Lethen, and Monkey were the only names stated apart from some guy called “no.”

Can't believe I didn't get 24 votes.
Interesting to see how the votes have shifted, not only due to more candidates but also due recent developments.

Interesting to see; I wonder how the polls will shake out come election day. Also I am never running for Senate, kids :p

A bit late to the punch personally, however these results are very interesting indeed. Can't wait to see what happens on election day!
