E-News Network - PhDre claims victory
Written by HEM Tiberius

After a long campaign fight Senate Speaker PhDre has claimed victory over legislative giant and NCP juggernaut Swakistek. What originally appeared to be a downright creaming leveled out before polls closed giving Swakistek a respectable percent of the vote, but not enough to approach the commanding lead that had been established by PhDre only hours after the polls opened.

Voting turnout was a historic low just was voter interest. Many speculate that the longer campaign timing (even moreso than usual) hurt the excitement factor of the election. The cycle was also relatively clean compared to the last three elections of passion.

What is worth a mention is how post count totals reflect on the lower election excitement. While the Admin Bureau isn't officially releasing a count, a high level staffer to Chancellor HEM says they are nearly identical to posts last March during the Falconias slowdown.

President PhDre now has the strenuous task of running a government during a posting slowdown. While summer has always been a historically slower time in Nationstates many people look fondly to the previous summer which was an activity boom under President Lexus. This level of activity and growth occurred mainly in July and is very possible to achieve.

Thank you, Lex. :)

The summer months are a double edged sword - some people have too much time to kill, and others escape to the real world for a few months. If anyone is wondering, I'll be giving an opening address at some point later today, and I'll also pop into the Senate and see if we can get 21 Tomlinson populated!
