I think it ended up being pretty brief. Within a few weeks, we closed embassies.About Audux: Is it weird that I don't remember my appointment as our ambassador to Audux? Maybe it's because I blocked out such an event from my memory.
I mentioned this on Discord, but I actually did some research: BR definitely used the moniker "King Cordova" in The New Inquisition prior to running into you (or at least having a bad opinion of you). You joined TNI as an ambassador under the username "Europeia's Cordova" and he warmly greeted you there. Either flattery, or a very odd coincidence.RM was probably “King Cordova I” to take a jab at me. I was not his biggest fan, to say the least. RM was overambitious, his reach exceeding his grasp.
I will say: I think the big reason RM/BR ultimately got run out of Europeia the first time was him blatantly importing voters (i.e. either him astroturfing random friends, or just creating clone accounts). Him announcing his Foreign Secretary ambitions was seen in very poor taste, and set the stage for him souring on us (and us on him) but I also think that was a bitttt of an overreaction. He never said, "I want Cordova to get the sack" just expressed that he aspired for the role. And, ironically, he probably could've had it had he not gone around the bend, seeing as you retired not long after!
To be honest, we may have all dogpiled a little bit because he was already leaving a bad taste in our mouths. Just one thing after another.
Yessss! I have written quite a bit in the past about our connections with LKE, but there were definitely synergies with the other regions too. TNI was our closest military ally, and I think we exported a lot of our "higher brow" political culture from GB&I. You might not think there's much here at all that is "high brow" but in comparison to the LKE, Europeia is already on a maturation track.I know you didn't touch on this specifically in this piece, and it's certainly something we've talked to death over the years, but I just want to remind everyone that early Europeia was comprised almost entirely of players who were involved in Empires of Earth, The New Inquisition, the Land of Kings and Emperors, and/or Great Britain and Ireland. Those four regions were all at different stages in the realm of NS game-play, but they were all also relatively close allies. They also had many off-shoots that encouraged a lot of cross-polinization of players, e.g., colonies, regions founded by citizens, regions who were rebelling or split off from their original region. Of course, a lot of those players then lured other players to their regions...including Europeia. HEM was quite active in the LKE and nominally in EoE; barely active in TNI or GB&I. I started my NS career in GB&I, and I was fairly active in TNI - likely where I had my longest tenure outside of Europeia. I was less active in EoE and the LKE, or at least my activity was more in spurts of interest.
LOL i guess we were the consolation pain. Are we the consolation prize? Do you know what prize means?
But in seriousness, it says a lot about the state of the region that Nlhp pretty much had to load his Cabinet with Blue Conservatives. There really wasn't a possible functional Cabinet without you and I.
I am sure the fact that GB&I was your home region added an extra emphasis on your indignation, but I was also being extremely obnoxious in trying to be at the center of everything.See above re: GB&I. I wasn't just upset because it was my domain as Foreign Minister. I was upset because it was my original home region and, for better or worse, I knew a lot more of the players and had a better feel for the place. At least I'm sure that was my logic at the time
You're getting ahead of yourself!!!! But yes, that is coming.East Pacific? Or was that later...
Yes, pretty much all the MVPs through summer 2009 have been introduced already!Oh shit what a lowkey stacked line-up
Integration was always a lot easier under 100 nations even back in the day, and I bet that's even more true today with Discord. We did especially well with our strategic member poaching, tooAlso in hindsight I feel like this is a great return on 50 nations for 2007
