Minister Calvin Coolidge Launches Latest Recruitment Contest
Thunderdome Competition Begins

Minister of Interior @Calvin Coolidge recently launched Interior’s latest recruitment contest: the Thunderdome. Intended to pit teams of recruiters against each other, the Thunderdome is an event with rounds of three weeks. Four teams go against each other in two matches, with a Daily Dose (25 telegrams) counting for 2 points, a Double Dose (50 telegrams) counting for 3 points, and a Mini-Dose (15 telegrams) counting for 1 point. However, points reset every week. The best of three win the overall round, and from there, the semi-finals start a new round of competition.
This competition within the Ministry of Interior follows a trend of term-long games and competitions. Just last term, former Minister @Le Libertie ran a Cryptomania game, where contestants could invest money they received from completing doses into cleverly named digital currency. Other notable events that were looked at during planning for this terms competitions included Survivor, Recruitment Lottery, and Monopoly. These games and competitions are proven to have a marked increase in recruitment numbers. As a general trend, recruitment telegrams tend to drop off at the beginning of each term; when no competition is ongoing and the minister is still finding their footing. For example, during the week before the Thunderdome was announced, 2468 total telegrams were sent out. In comparison, 3650 telegrams were sent this week.
One thing special about this terms competition, though, is that the recruiters themselves were able to provide discussion about the type of games they wanted. Many different concepts were put forward, and eventually a team style game was devised.
As for how the teams were drafted, the ministry decided to settle on a snake draft, with the top four most active recruiters being chosen as team captains. The teams are as follows:
