[Inside Government] Midterm Executive Satisfaction Poll Results and Analysis

August 2021 Midterm Executive Satisfaction Poll Results and Analysis
Results and Analysis

Written by ICH

As the current Executive Branch completes half of its tenure, the Europeian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) decided it was the best time to assess the citizenry's satisfaction with their primary governing entity, and after polling the region a few days ago, it seems we have all the answers in our hands! In a promising development, 28 citizens have exercised their option to let their concerns/praises be known regarding the Government, an increase of 2 citizens from the last Executive Satisfaction polls!

PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT, AND EXECUTIVE SATISFACTION

Executive Satisfaction Rate: 85.7%

“Doin' fine”

The Executive records a whopping increase of 28% from the previous Executive's end-of-term 57.7% satisfaction rate, to reach an impressive mark of 85.7%. A large number of those content citizens responded that they were "satisfied", while almost 1/4th of the satisfied citizens responded much more enthusiastically with a "very satisfied" assessment. This indicates while the Executive remains popular and satisfactory throughout their continued tenure, it still has the room to improve on its already strong numbers. The fact that 64.3%of the people can go either way, owing to their less enthusiastic responses than the 21.4% of the "very satisfied" citizens, in case a controversy hits the Executive in the remainder of the tenure makes it safe for us to say that it has to stay cautious and ensure their strong performance is kept up throughout the remainder of their tenure at the same time.

President Calvin Coolidge: 89.3%

“Pretty much what we expected”

The President stands to be the biggest beneficiary tonight, as they more than double the previous President's satisfaction rate of 38.4% to reach an impressive 89.3%, an increase of 50.9%. What works more in the President's favour is the fact that a higher percentage of the respondents (42.9%) held a strongly positive assessment of the President's performance, and this indicates while the respondents had some grievances about some of the individual ministries, they are confident about the President's leadership abilities and are of the view that the President has been doing their best in most of the areas of governance. Given the fact that Calvin has gained on his previous term's satisfaction rate (82.6%) and the comment of one of the respondents, it is safe to say Calvin has managed to live up to the expectation of the citizenry until now and it remains to be seen if the President can retain these stellar numbers until the end of the term.

Vice-President Grandfather Clock: 82.2%

“Who?”

The Vice-President continues the trend of a strong showing by the Executive Branch, totaling a satisfaction rate of 82.2%, up by 12.9% from the previous Vice-President's Executive satisfaction rate at the end of their tenure. As is seen with the President, GC scoops up a high amount of enthusiastically positive responses, proving that they are seen by the majority of the citizenry to have played a critical role in the successes of the present Government.

MINISTER AND MINISTRY SATISFACTION:

Ministry of Communications: 67.8%
Minister of Communications Monkey: 53.6%

3C7C1E37-1AEB-45BA-9BF9-6D4D8370CF0D.jpeg

“Very few EBC articles”

“Comms production has kind of fallen off”

“Communications is a tough Ministry to manage, and the start of this term proved that. There has been improvement recently however.”

“Monkey started off strong but has become increasingly absent and misses important deadlines.”

“Monkey is doing the absolute best he can, given the circumstances of decreased activity across the board.”

While the Ministry of Communications has increased its satisfaction rate from 57.7% at the end of the last term, to 67.8%, an increase of 10.1%, Minister Monkey has however fared worse than their predecessor Lime, having attained a satisfaction rate of 53.6%, lower than Lime's 61.5%, a decrease of 7.9%. This rings some alarm bells for Monkey as some of the comments have also expressed their concerns with their performance, with one noting that they have "become increasingly absent and misses important deadlines". While most of the other comments have expressed their discontent with the Ministry's overall performance without elaborating about how they feel about the Minister's individual performance, it could be argued it had ripple effects on the Minister's own satisfaction rate as well. However, some commentators did understand Monkey is "doing the absolute best he can", one of the positives they can take from this polling tonight.

Minister of Culture: 75%
Minister of Culture Sanjurika: 71.4%

“Not entirely sure what culture has done. We had Eurolympics but they seemed rather drab and I didn't feel like there was much hype to them. Disappointed if I'm honest.”

“i was originally worried about this term but Sanj has done great!”

“The Olymipcs are awesome, Culture and the regional culture feel alive again!”

“Who?”

“Culture is humming along well.”

The Ministry of Culture, has according to the citizenry, experienced a quiet turnover under Minister Sanjurika, increasing its satisfaction rate from 61.6% to 75%, an increase of 13.4%. Minister Sanjurika also experienced a satisfaction rating of 71.4%, an increase of 2.2% for a Minister of Culture from the last term's Minister's rating. As seen from the polling and comments, the Summer Olympics has struck a chord with the citizenry, and some feel the Ministry has overcome its purpose crisis as to them the "regional culture feel alive again". Some of the respondents have also indicated that Sanjurika has managed to exceed their expectations saying "i was originally worried about this term but Sanj has done great."

Ministry of Foreign Affairs: 78.6%
Minister of Foreign Affairs Darkslayer: 71.4%

“Joined ANTIFA very nice”

“Darkslayer was clearly the wrong choice for this post”

“Hard to know what's going on, but I trust in Dark's work.”

“It was a pretty good move from the Government to adopt a leading role in opposing the Frontier/Democracy change proposed in NS by being one of the first regions to release a statement against it. In the Independence Summit, some were of the view that some regions, including ours were not as proactive when it comes to issues relating to UCRs' welfare as Europeia used to in the past, but this dispels such concerns as this issue critically affects UCRs.”

The recent visibility of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, be it the statement towards the Frontier/Stronghold change or the recent joining hands with Antifa, has clearly won the Ministry and the Minister region-wide approval, as the Ministry has registered an increase of 20.9% satisfaction rate from the last term's 57.7%, a wide increase. Minister Darkslayer has also stood out as a strong performer with a 71.4% satisfaction rate, an increase of 17.5% from the previous Minister's satisfaction rate. While one of the respondents admitted they do not know much about the internal workings of the Ministry, Dark's known work ethics is what assures the citizens of a stronger FA Ministry this term.

Ministry of Interior: 75%
Minister of Interior Le Libertie: 85.7%

244AD7AD-DA10-42B3-A998-2EF31B33B89B.jpeg

“LL has performed well in this role. I like his leadership style.”

“Good job with Cryptomania, LL!”

“LL has done an excellent job in Interior this term.”

“Is Interior having so much trouble that we had to push a fake recruiting bill through the Senate?”

“LL is trying his best in tough times”

“You know, this poll is one of many times when my name has been misspelled. I have considered going all in with proper French and changing it to 'La Liberté,' or maybe personifying it more and changing it to Libertius.”

The fact that the Ministry has more or less retained its satisfaction rate of the last term, despite the ever-worsening Summer Slump, is a testimony of the attempts the Ministry under LL has made to arrest the downward trend, over which, the Ministry has control to a very small extent. The Ministry registered a decrease of 2% when it comes to its satisfaction rate from the last term, but Le Libertie however registers an increase of 1.1% in the Minister's satisfaction rate from the previous Minister's rate at the end of the last term. His leadership style and creativity, with the inception of the Cryptomania program, has been widely approved by the citizenry and despite the slump in the population numbers, many citizens are of the view that LL is trying their best to overcome this trend, judging from the polling and the comments. It further indicates that even though citizens might not be happy with the population numbers, they know it is Le Libertie who can turn around this trend and return our numbers to a positive trajectory.

Minister of Justice: 32.1%
Attorney General Sopo: 35.7%

FDCFC834-310F-4ED5-90B4-6E4BB8B4464F.jpeg

“Well, nothing has happened has it? It's basically a ministry sat gathering dust”

“Nothing happening.”

“Who?”

“What has Sopo done?”

If there’s one Minister who has the most to think about after seeing the polling, it has to be Attorney General Sopo. While some of the comments have put the blame on the Ministry’s lack of purpose, which became a topic of discussion a few months ago, there are also same who are disappointed with the AG’s performance, judging from the comments. The Ministry of Justice registered a satisfaction rate of 32.1%, a drop of 21.8% from the 53.9% satisfaction rate enjoyed by the Ministry at the end of the previous term. While Sopo registered a slightly higher approval rate of 35.7%, he experiences a far higher drop than the Ministry did from the previous term, registering a drop of 29.6% when compared with Attorney General Malashaan’s rating at the end of the previous term. This is surely going to spark some discussion about the Ministry’s productivity in the recent times.

Europeian Republican Navy: 46.4%

63D67C4D-2CD7-4BA4-B8A5-7F7D8E6403DB.jpeg

“Less ops because of the constant leadership change - not under anyone's control though”

“Unfortunate slow down.”

“ERN is doing well”

“Quiet term for the ERN but overall fine, despite resignations”

The ERN however, holds the unlucky distinction of receiving the highest percentage of dis-satisfaction responses. But the Executive can gain some sort of consolation from the fact that most of the respondents are of the view that the frequent change in ERN Leadership, was the main reason behind the lower number of operations conducted by the ERN, and they felt it was beyond the Executive’s control. The Navy registers a satisfaction rate of 46.4%, a drop of 34.4% from its approval rating of 80.8% at the end of the previous term. It remains to be seen if the new Grand Admiral Vlaska can swiftly get the Navy back on track and change its fortune by the time the next elections are at our doorsteps.

Ministry of Radio: 89.3%
Minister of Radio Kuramia: 89.3%

A54F2D64-4583-4794-B19D-94F7EE4233B5.jpeg

“Good job overall, would like to see twitch streams get rolling more consistently again, but that's not easy”

“Kuramia is a fantastic radio personality! Boring my ass, Lime!”

“Haven't listened to many things myself but just check the shows and streams channel and you'll be impressed! Especially the first couple of weeks”

“I think Kura's done a great job taking advantage of Discord.”

Minister Kuramia has managed to turn, what was a struggling Ministry last term, into the best performing Ministry this term, with a whopping increase of 42.3% from the Ministry’s satisfaction rate at the end of the last term. The same percentage of respondents were also satisfied with Minister Kuramia, with Kuramia achieving a satisfaction rate of 89.3%, up by 46.2% from the previous Minister’s satisfaction rating last term. The commentators were full of praise for the Minister, with none of them registering even a slight dissent, and the Ministry’s utilisation of the Stage Platform on Discord has also been met with wide approval, with some of the respondents noting that Kuramia has “done a great job taking advantage of Discord.”

Ministry of World Assembly Affairs: 75%
Minister of World Assembly Affairs Greater Cesnica: 71.4%

3BEB97CE-F9CC-44C1-8EE6-CBF3F1B3E4C1.jpeg

“It's been pretty active but that might just be left over from PA's term”
“great work”
“Greater Cesnica is a bit rough, and it shows, but he is enthusiastic”

The Ministry of World Assembly Affairs, which has gained a reputation in the last few terms for being one of the most efficient Ministries in the region, have continued to keep up their satisfactory performance with a 70%+ approval rating for both the Ministry and the Minister. While the Ministry did drop by 9.7% when compared to the Ministry‘s satisfaction rating last term, most of the commentators were more or less pleased by the Ministry’s performance, and also some noted the Ministry’s success was also helped by the well-built state of the Ministry Pland Adanna had left for their successor Greater Cesnica. Greater Cesnica scooped up a satisfaction rate of 71.4%, a drop of 13.3% when compared with Pland Adanna’s rating at the end of the last term, but most of the respondents had nothing to say against GC’s performance and noted that ”he is enthusiastic”. The fact that he also enjoys a high percentage of enthusiastic “very satisfied” responses is also a positive development for the Minister, who is in their first term as a Minister in the region.

Next Term’s Cabinet

Which Ministers should return?

While Sanjurika, Le Libertie and Kuramia were favoured by the citizenry to return back to the position next term, and thus translating their high satisfaction rate into a high support by the people for their re-nomination, the results regarding Darkslayer, Monkey and Greater Cesnica, was a bit surprising for the analysts since they were approved by more than majority of
the citizenry, and yet was favoured by a minority of the citizenry to return back to their position. This might be due to the citizens feeling that even though the Ministers did well-enough in their job, there are a lot of suitable alternatives who can take their post. There was no relief for Sopo however, who had an almost identical percentage of people wanting him to return back to his position.

Next Elections

President Calvin Coolidge

04E7CE20-61C0-4062-82F1-542D374EB3EA.jpeg

Almost 68% of the citizenry would support Calvin Coolidge if he were to re-run for President in the next elections, and the fact that this percentage is lower than his sarisfaction rate and a lower percentage of enthusiastic responses (“Strongly Support”), indicates that while some of the citizenry highly approve of his performance, they are willing to wait until the elections or give a newer face a chance in the next elections. But with 67.9% of the citizenry supporting Calvin at this point, any possible competitor will have their work cut out should Calvin re-run.
