"How Likely Is Pichto's Cabinet To Get Confirmed?"
Written by HEM
ENN Editor-in-Chief

ENN has conducted a flash poll surveying Europeians on President Pichtonia's nominations to Cabinet. After less than twelve hours, we have received 29 responses and are ready to publish our data. For each nominee we will present the combined numbers, as well as Senate and General Public numbers along with a rating and commentary.

Lime — Minister of Culture

PUBLIC
Definitely confirm: 16.67%
Probably confirm: 33.33%
Maybe confirm: 37.50%
Not confirm: 12.50%

SENATE
Definitely confirm: 40.00%
Probably confirm: 40.00%
Maybe confirm: 00.00%
Not confirm: 20.00%

TOTAL:
Definitely confirm: 20.69%
Probably confirm: 34.48%
Maybe confirm: 31.03%
Not confirm: 13.79%

ENN RATING: LEAN CONFIRM

Lime is facing some public skepticism for the Minister of Culture role, with some saying he hasn't been particularly involved in Culture and there may be other rising stars who would be better prepared to the take the role. Fortunately for Lime, significant concern among the public at large isn't equally represented among purported Senators — with 80% saying that they would "probably" or "definitely" vote to confirm. The uncertainty in Lime's confirmation lay with the general public, where just 50% would "probably" or "definitely confirm him, and whether they will press their case with the Senate.

Vor — Minister of Interior

PUBLIC
Definitely confirm: 8.33%
Probably confirm: 45.83%
Maybe confirm: 20.83%
Not confirm: 25.00%

SENATE
Definitely confirm: 20.00%
Probably confirm: 20.00%
Maybe confirm: 40.00%
Not confirm: 20.00%

TOTAL:
Definitely confirm: 10.34%
Probably confirm: 41.38%
Maybe confirm: 24.14%
Not confirm: 24.14%

ENN RATING: TOSSUP

Vor has received criticism from citizens for a lack of involvement in the Interior Ministry, particularly in regards to recruitment where most of his recruiting work has taken place years ago during a previous stint in Europeia.

President Pichtonia has used strong language to defend Vor, saying, "Others could try, but I'm convinced that the success of our integration policy especially hinges on the confirmation of Vor." Vor has also answered Senate questions in great detail, showing grit and determination to assume the post.

And so, the region is torn. Vor actually fares slightly better with the general public than purported Senators, which could end up being a weakness. Over 50% of non-Senators would "definitely" or "probably" vote to confirm Vor — among Senators, that number is only 40%.

Kazaman — Grand Admiral

PUBLIC
Definitely confirm: 54.17%
Probably confirm: 20.83%
Maybe confirm: 16.67%
Not confirm: 8.33%

SENATE
Definitely confirm: 60.00%
Probably confirm: 40.00%
Maybe confirm: 0.00%
Not confirm: 0.00%

TOTAL:
Definitely confirm: 55.17%
Probably confirm: 24.14%
Maybe confirm: 13.79%
Not confirm: 6.90%

ENN RATING: SAFE CONFIRM

Kazaman has received some questions about statements made in the past that seemed critical to Independence — Europeia's primary pillar of foreign and military policy. However, either those concerns have only come from a small subset of the population, or he's successfully addressed them, because Kazaman should have no trouble getting confirmed.

Xecrio — Minister of Radio

PUBLIC
Definitely confirm: 83.33%
Probably confirm: 12.50%
Maybe confirm: 4.17%
Not confirm: 0.00%

SENATE
Definitely confirm: 100.00%
Probably confirm: 0.00%
Maybe confirm: 0.00%
Not confirm: 0.00%

TOTAL:
Definitely confirm: 86.21%
Probably confirm: 10.34%
Maybe confirm: 3.45%
Not confirm: 0.00%

ENN RATING: SAFE CONFIRM

Not much to say here. Xecrio's nomination hasn't gotten any real pushback and seems likely to sail through.

Seva — Minister of World Assembly Affairs

PUBLIC
Definitely confirm: 87.50%
Probably confirm: 8.33%
Maybe confirm: 4.17%
Not confirm: 0.00%

SENATE
Definitely confirm: 100.00%
Probably confirm: 0.00%
Maybe confirm: 0.00%
Not confirm: 0.00%

TOTAL:
Definitely confirm: 89.66%
Probably confirm: 6.90%
Maybe confirm: 3.45%
Not confirm: 0.00%

ENN RATING: SAFE CONFIRM

Serving in the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs as a deputy, Seva has attracted no real criticism. Nomination will coast through.

Lloenflys— Attorney General

PUBLIC
Definitely confirm: 79.17%
Probably confirm: 20.83%
Maybe confirm: 0.00%
Not confirm: 0.00%

Not confirm: 0.00%

TOTAL:
Definitely confirm: 82.76%
Probably confirm: 17.24%
Maybe confirm: 0.00%
Not confirm: 0.00%

ENN RATING: SAFE CONFIRM

Another day, another nominee who will be easily confirmed. And the crowds cheer.

Minister of Communication — SkyGreen24

PUBLIC
Definitely confirm: 41.67%
Probably confirm: 41.67%
Maybe confirm: 12.50%
Not confirm: 4.17%

SENATE
Definitely confirm: 20.00%
Probably confirm: 80.00%
Maybe confirm: 0.00%
Not confirm: 0.00%

TOTAL:
Definitely confirm: 37.93%
Probably confirm: 48.28%
Maybe confirm: 10.34%
Not confirm: 3.45%

ENN RATING: SAFE CONFIRM

There's a littttlee softness in these numbers for SkyGreen, as he looks to make a horizontal move into the Communications Ministry. Some have mused that he doesn't have a *ton* of recent comms work under his belt, but after a solid performance last term, it's hard to not see SkyGreen getting the votes.

Monkey — Minister of Foreign Affairs

PUBLIC
Definitely confirm: 70.83%
Probably confirm: 16.67%
Maybe confirm: 4.17%
Not confirm: 8.33%

SENATE
Definitely confirm: 60.00%
Probably confirm: 40.00%
Maybe confirm: 0.00%
Not confirm: 0.00%

TOTAL:
Definitely confirm: 68.97%
Probably confirm: 20.69%
Maybe confirm: 3.45%
Not confirm: 6.90%

ENN RATING: SAFE CONFIRM

Monkey has not received any significant pushback publicly, and it shows in the polls. Easy confirmation.

Overall, despite all the drama, 6/8 of the picks from President Pichtonia are basically sure bets. Two choices remain TBD, with only one being a tossup.

Thanks, HEM. I think that these numbers make sense given what we've seen from the regionwide discussion. For many years now executive nominations have nearly always made it through the Senate, so seeing even one be this uncertain is noteworthy.

Good coverage. It's been an exciting confirmation period this time around.

This is certainly one of the more fascinating Cabinet nomination periods that I have ever seen, likely because of Pichto's bold choices in some areas. Some good data here HEM.
