Hello friends!

As many know, we on the admin team like to rename forums in honor of those who receive Ovations and Triumphs. We are a bit behind the curve on some of these, in part because they involve two of our own. Today we have made the following changes:

The Written Product Gallery has been renamed the Kuramia Newsroom in honor of Kuramia's Ovation and her many contributions to Europeia, but especially those in the ministry of communications.

The Archives have been renamed the Darcness Regional Archive in honor of Darcness's Ovation and his role in saving our forum and our history from Tapa-struction.

The Broadcast Planning subforum has been renamed the Calvin Coolidge Planning Center, replacing a forum in the defunct Citizens' Assembly previously named in honor of Calvin. This honors Calvin's many contributions to Europeian Radio.

The Common-Sense Politics Oval Office has reverted to the Pope Lexus X Oval Office (its original name) due to the archiving of Pope Lexus Lane. The Naval Boardroom has been renamed the Common-Sense Politics Boardroom for his years of service to our Navy.

It is our pleasure to honor these great Europeians and friends with these tributes to their work. Long delayed, but not forgotten!

Cheers,
The Admins

Oh neato! I would've never guessed that one. :D

I'm not always sure about renaming forums after people. This is not a decision that should be takien lightly, and this should only occur if there is someone very important to the community who should never feel forgotten. I certainly agree with the choices of people, though.

Brilliant choices here, love your work Admins!

FINALLY

(thanks Sopo :D)

In Europeia, it's an honour traditionally conferred on Honoured Citizens. And that's a pretty rare status and hard to achieve honour.

Ovations and Triumphs

OT01. An Ovation shall be the highest honour awarded to any citizen for civilian service to the Republic. It may be awarded for highly-distinguished service or a particularly grand service to the State, or for other civilian service.

OT02. A Triumph shall be the highest honour awarded to any citizen for military service to the Republic. It may be awarded for highly-distinguished service or a particularly-important military action, or for other military service.

OT03. The President may nominate any citizen for an Ovation. Any such nomination shall require confirmation by the Senate via an absolute majority.

OT04. The President may nominate any citizen for a Triumph. Any such nomination shall require confirmation by the Senate via an absolute majority.

OT05. Upon approval from the Senate, a specific day shall be chosen and organised for the Ovation or Triumph, and a ceremony shall be initiated for citizens of the Republic to express their gratitude towards the honouree.

OT06. Upon conclusion of the ceremony, the President shall convey Honoured Citizen status and the Order of Republica medal upon the recipient of the Ovation.

OT07. Upon conclusion of the ceremony, the President shall convey Honoured Citizen status and the Order of Courage medal upon the recipient of the Triumph.

Honoured Citizen

HC01. Any citizen may become an Honoured Citizen by receiving an Ovation or Triumph from the Senate, or by a motion of the Senate with absolute majority approval.

HC02. Honoured Citizen status may be removed through a 2/3rds absolute majority vote of the Senate.

HC03. The citizenship of an Honoured Citizen may not be revoked except by court sentence.

Honorific Prefixes

[...]
HP02. The following shall be the most senior honorific prefix;
The Venerable (abbrev. as The Ven.)
which may be used by:
Honoured Citizens.
