March 30 2020

A Call To Arms
On March 27, an announcement from Chief of State Pichtonia for a call to arms from citizens came, to join the Lands of Kings and Emperors, The Black Hawks, Balder, The West Pacific, Kantrias, and United Kingdom on a mission to hold Xedas. While further updates are yet to come, the mission so far has been largely successful, with our allies noting the significant support from Europeian citizens.

Midterm Reports
On March 24, Councilor of World Assembly Affairs Izzy provided an informative midterm address, in which they spoke about some staffing changes, a Spotting Thread for better use internally by World Assembly Affairs staff (rather than Discord notifications only), and excitingly provided updates on the Pokémon Program.

Updates from the Ministry of Interior remain consistent, with the Week 8 report now out from the Minister of Interior Calvin Coolidge, in which he also provides encouragement for people to get involved in the Regional Message Boards through his Question of the Day idea.

Also on March 24, Minister of Communications Istillian announced an update on the state of the Ministry of Communications, celebrating the work of writers and editors, and praising the high levels of activity in the ministry over the last few weeks. In this, he also announced the promotion of United Vietussia to Editor-in-Chief of the "At Home in Europeia" column.

Winding Down
On March 24, the Ministry of Culture led Ovation of Kuramia came to a close, concluding with Chief of State Pichtonia awarding Kuramia with the Order of Republica, and First Minister Dax granting the title of Honoured Citizen for her longtime service to the community and our region.

A Royal Wedding
On March 28, Pichtonia asked for Sopo's hand in marriage, which was gracefully accepted. Minister of Interior Calvin Coolidge blessed the unity, to quote, "i declare this marriage legal and also good," with many congratulations followed by citizens. It is yet to be known if any children will come from the unity, but the Europeian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) wishes them the best.

Ongoing Discussions
On March 23, Ervald opened discussions to continue on the Executive Modernization plan, while decisions are still yet to be made by the Senate, there does seem to be progress with what the overarching plan going forward is.

An Abundance of Articles
The Europeian Broadcating Corporation released five new articles since the last update, covering a range of topics, but notably work from Malashaan regarding "When is a private platform a government platform?"; PabstOverdrive and Lloenflys provided a summary of the 72nd Senate Proceedings; the Executive Satisfaction Poll was released with varying results for our Executive team; Istillian wrote on foreign affairs, and how leadership development and foreign affairs knowledge can be achieved by joining the Europeian Republican Navy; and finally, United Vietussia gripped us with "Catching Up With Culture," a brief look into the Ministry of Culture this term, and what citizens can do to get involved.

Frontrunners of the Race
On March 26, HEM released the results from a poll conducted by the Europeian News Network (ENN), in which he speculates on the data gathered about potential first minister candidates for the coming term. Coming at a head for votes are current First Minister Dax, Second Minister Istillian, and Councilor of External Communication Kuramia, with majority support, with a listing of others that also remain strong contenders. Although it remains to be seen who will run for the role, the ENN results show that it's clearly gearing up up to be an exciting race.

Further speculation on the first minister frontrunners, and conversation on the ENN analysis, was brought to EBC Radio in a conversation between HEM, Calvin Coolidge and Sopo. If you missed the show, it's worth listening back on a fascinating conversation about the current potential candidates.

Friendly Festival
Finally, on March 28, Chief of State Pichtonia announced a joint hosting of an inter-regional event, Paradoxical'20. The event has seen a storm of activity, and is worth getting involved in, if only to chat with our friends from other regions. Rewards and recognition of competitions and games are yet to follow.
