General Election
The Senate elections are up and running with many candidates standing for the new term. Europeia finds itself in a bit of disarray with ongoing talks of reviewing the Executive split. Vice Chancellor Drecq has a positive vision for incoming candidates, “It will be a term for the bold. A term for the ones willing to try new things for the betterment of the region and the ones willing to swim against the stream to defend what is good from being made worse for the sake of change. And in the battle between those two groups on the great debating floor of the Senate, and in the Grand Hall, the Senators and Citizens of Europeia may just forge a better path forward.”

This election’s polls open on March 20 and every citizen is reminded to vote for the candidate of their choice, regarding their policies and what they look for in our region’s Senate, moving forward.

Confirmation
In current news, First Minister Dax, under their new leadership nominated Istillian as their second minister this past Sunday. The confirmation hearings closed in favor of the appointment: 6-0. The Second Minister gave an opening address Friday morning. Prior to his confirmation as second minister, Istillian, on March 3, was confirmed as Minister of Communications and released a brief update from the ministry this week.

Communications with a Comeback
This week the Ministry of Communications released two articles; firstly coming from newcomer PabstOverdrive, an article titled "Back to Work in Europeia", covered their prior experiences in the region, and provided an insightful look ahead for things to come in Europeia. Secondly, Istillian released an article regarding resignations, exploring how our leaders have dealt and coped with sudden or shocking departures in their past terms. More articles and updates to come from the ministry in the next week.

Executive Order Amendment
In January this year the Senate began deliberations on the language regarding Executive Orders. The debates closed this week with a vote on the bill, as of now the bill has passed provisionally. This law explicitly affects Senate powers concerning vetoes of Executive Orders. Nowhere in the bill does it invalidate Executive powers. An interesting note is the entrenchment clause requiring a majority vote in the Senate to repeal or amend the law.

Vote Fails
An Amendment proposal by TheNationofthePeople is brought to Arnhelm City this week, it means to amend the language concerning voting and administrative duties the mayor in our city-state holds during their tenure. The vote fails due to a requirement for a super majority to pass the amendment. The legislative discussion is ongoing.

Citizens with an interest in becoming a City Councilor for Arnhelm should inquire here.

One Small Step
Following a proposal from The Council of Aviontech instituting a Europeian Space program the ordinance came to a vote and closed on Wednesday night unanimously in favor of implementing the program, and in doing so the Eureopeian Space Exploration Commission is ratified.
Citizens with an interest in the final frontier should read over the ordinance at Arnhelm City.
