A Wave of New Nations
If you have been watching the recent happenings on NationStates, you'll have seen that the count of nations has jumped from around 180,000 to a staggering 220,000. The reason? A famous YouTuber has made a video about playing the game, bringing lots of new faces to here. Regionally, Europeia jumped from 926 nations on April 20 to 1,539 nations on April 24. Within the forums and the Discord server, the activity is apparent - if you look at the Office of Citizenship, many applications have been made since Monday, while on Discord, some of these new players have become very active. Europeia hopes that a lot of those newcomers stick around and make significant contributions to the region.

Deputy Minister Appointments
After the Cabinet confirmation by the Senate, most ministers appointed deputies to help them with specific tasks, except Minister of Radio Calvin Coolidge, who is currently looking to fill a Deputy position.
Hezekon, minister of communications, appointed four people - Xecrio, Lloenflys, Prim, and Maowi - for managing directors of specific columns within the Europeian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) and Astrellan for deputy director of the EBC.
Olde Delaware, minister of culture, announced United Vietussia for senior deputy for weekend games, Giovanniland for senior deputy for cultural outreach, and Rotasu for deputy for guides.
Furthermore, in the Ministry of Interior, McEntire chose to keep Peeps as deputy for recruitment, while also appointing South Eastern Centralia as deputy for data.

Papal Election
Minister of Culture Olde Delaware opened standing for Pope on this Monday, April 21. On the same day, many candidates appeared, such as Calvin Coolidge for Swiftism, Rotasu for The Temple of the Goddess, Winna for The Euro Faith, Mr. Verteger for Vertegeralism, and, last but not least, incumbent Sopo, representing The Church of Nethel. Since then, several debates with the candidates have happened, along with a close race in the primaries, leading to a Calvin Coolidge victory. The final election will take place on April 27.

World Assembly Resolutions
Within the World Assembly (WA), much has happened. The recent spotlight goes to a resolution drafted by Europeian citizen Maowi: Prevention of Forced Sterilisation. The resolution was recently put at vote in the General Assembly and passed with a count of 20,764 votes in favor, and just 2,989 against - one of the greatest voter quorums in the history of the WA. About the Security Council, a recent proposal, Repeal "Condemn This Game," has also passed, with a close vote of 12,631 votes in favor and 8,886 against. This resolution aimed to repeal "Condemn This Game," an April Fools joke proposal which received a lot of backlash.

Arnhelm Activity
The City of Arnhelm has also seen a lot of activity these past days. After a brief period without new proposals, there are around 10 ongoing debates, currently. Some of the discussions include the May-June Budget and the Political Parties Ordinance, with notable participation from new Arnhelm councilors. Furthermore, in a few days the Mayoral Election of May will be open for standing, to further increase activity.
