Senate By-Election
Ervald and Darkslayer won a highly contested and tightly fought by-election. Candidate GraVandius lead the race for the second Senate seat for most of the day, before Darkslayer fought back and claimed the seat by a margin of one vote.

Senate Happenings
It has been a busy week in the senate, with the Executive Modernisation Omnibus Bill moving to a second reading. Peeps proposed the Executive Order Protocol Clarification Amendment, which has moved to a vote. In response to a petition started in the Grand Hall by United Vietussia, conversation has begun on the Repeal of the Constitutional Convention Act of 2018.

May Madness
Minister of Interior McEntire released the results of the first week of the May Madness competition following a busy week of recruiting. The General Attorneys, Y’all, Team Swift, and the Helper Breakers all had wins and moved on to the semi-finals this week. McEntire also announced that team members from the losing teams are eligible to join the teams that beat them.

Arnhelm Mayoral Election
Standing for the Arnhelm mayoral election opened on May 29, with Forilian and SkyGreen24 both announcing their candidacies. Voting will open on June 1 and it remains to be seen whether anybody else decides to run.

Minecraft
On May 30, Minister of Culture Olde Delaware and Darcness announced the opening of the Europeian Minecraft server. Although only open for a brief period of time so far, it has already seen much activity by a large portion of the region.

Pride Month
First Minister Istillian released Executive Order IST51-20 recognising that June is Pride Month. This tied in with the announcement of the EuroPride festival that will be taking place later in the month.

Panda's Pen Articles
It was also a busy week for the Panda's Pen media outlet, with two articles being released. Calvin Coolidge penned an op-ed on the state of Arnhelm, and also wrote an article based on the popularity of different positions across the region.

Region of the Week
Members from Kantrias joined us to celebrate the latest iteration of the Region of the Week program. They took part in a series of festivities, including weekend games, watching a movie, and culminating in the Name That Tune radio broadcast.
