Europeian State News

Opening Statement: This paper was founded to just report on recent events regarding the government. We'll cover The Senate, and executive branches, as well as the CC and Judicial Branch if something noteworthy occurs. This paper will be published every other Thursday, except when the author lacks the time to publish it, in that case it'll be published ASAP.

The Senate News

Elections are over and done with the Senate has been formed as the following six individuals:

Asperta
Sopo
Swakistek
Peaceful Llamas
Vinage
Malashaan

After a short delay the Senate was split on who to elect into the position of Speaker of the Senate. On a 3-2-1 Split between Swakistek and Peaceful Llamas the forever-working Swakistek won the vote. Soon after the Confirmations of the President’s Cabinet was completed with some Senators questioning the inexperience of the Grand Admiral but their worries were calmed by the President.

Since then Senator and Minister Vinage has been working with the Vice-President with some discrepancies noticed within legislation which has led to the Senate to decide that, in the near future, they are to review legislation related to Ministries and will ‘open them up for the President to determine their duties.’ Could this be the return of party politics within Europeia? Pro-Culture and Pro-Integration groups clashing.... you never know!

The Senate has also been reviewing some of the biggest pieces of legislation within Europeia in order to correct it in preparation of Law Index 2.0. Both Law Index 2.0 and an off-site system have their pros and cons but long-term sustainability of continuing to use the forum won out in the end.

Meanwhile the Grammar, Spelling and Formatting are soon to be united within an Act which will grant the Speaker of the Senate important powers to be able to amend Acts after they have been voted on and even signed! A big call but it seems the security of the Courts presiding over disagreed changes has won out in the end. With this Act formatting mistakes within the Law Index will now be able to be quickly corrected and amended without a Senate vote. Hopefully, in the next issue, we will be talking about what a wonderful move that was.

Finally, Senator Malashaan has been incredibly active for a first term Senator within Europeia and, if this continues, looks set to have a bright future within Europeia’s legislative branch. Other newcomers watch and learn!

The Executive News

Overall, life in the Executive Branch has been pretty uneventful. Here's what's happened though.

CSP won the election with a large majority of the vote, and quickly appointed his cabinet. He was criticized by some for delaying his inaugural address, but once delivered many saw it as short, sweet, and to the point and was generaly well recieved by Europeian citizens.

In foreign affairs, his first major action in office was suspending foreign relations with The Kodiak Republic, after the ncreasingly paranoid founder of that region, Rykkland overthrew a democratically-elected government, and undermined the laws he helped write. Many saw the hypocrisy, as Rykkland had once criticized The Last Kingdom for a lack of rights and undermining democratic procedure.

On the domestic front, the 1000 nations mark was reached at the beggining of the CSP administration, due to policies enacted by the Rachel Anumia administration.

It has been an interesting start to the last term of this year for Europeia. Hopefully the strong work will continue and the situation within the Kodiak "Republic" will be resolved soon with our fantastic Foreign Affairs team.

Please start your own private media outlet for this kind of thing. The EBC isn't the place for it.

Once again, this is part of Culture. Vinage approved of this...It's my idea, we were just planning to consolidate all the government news, and put in the EBC.
I realized that later on. Vinage will talk to you later as this is not the direction we've agreed to go in.
