E-News Network - ENN Senate Endorsement
Written by HEM Tiberius

The Senate race forthcoming will serve to be a litmus test on the Rougiers administration hencefar. Certainly not a perfect scale to measure the young President on, but perhaps the first inclination to what voters are thinking the region needs to succeed. This matter is complicated by the former President Falconias making a bid for the Senate seat vacated by myself, making the race that much more dynamic. Does the region advocate for a region to Falconian policies? Does this vote even represent that? Though Falconias' Presidential term was portrayed as mediocre, his Senate terms have never been criticized as below par.

This, and much else ENN had in mind before announcing our endorsement. We were disappointed with the lack of response from some candidates, even though excessive time was given over the original 24 hour period.

Europeia is faced with a fairly strong field. Besides Falconias, Fortana who was the former culture Minister, John Franklin, and Jackson are all competing for the sole seat. Cary, the long time communist is also seeking the seat with a little groundswelling of support.

We at ENN see many candidates as strong and capable. John Franklin has impressed us with his clear-cut campaign speech and his past legislative experience just as Jackson has been an active member of the City Council and provided the region with substantive answers on questions that others may falter at. Even Cary proposed a reasonable case for him serving as Senator showing his new moderated style of opinions and clear writing style.

For us though, we felt the best candidate for office was one of the less 'glamorous' ones. He's not a newbie, nor a controversial face. We believe that Fortana is the best candidate to represent Europeia in the Senate.

It is our opinion that Europeia is in need of a moderate sensible member who has served his region for some time, not always from the most prominent seat of attention, but dutifully all the same. While his term as Culture Minister was marked with some real life troubles we do not not hold this against him as we did not hold Falconias' recent absences against him either. Life happens, and citizens that can manage to return is a joyous matter, no matter the circumstances.

ENN is strongly convince that many good options will be on the ballot this 21st, but feel that Fortana will act as a cool-headed leader of compromise with the administration whilst being in a position to give common sense critiques of the very same.

His position on election reform is a bit too ambiguous for me. Congrats on the endorsement nonetheless, fort.
