Standing Opened in Election for 99th Senate
Vice Chancellor SkyGreen officially opened the standing period for the upcoming General Election on Friday, April 4. At the time of writing, eight candidates have stood, including incumbent Speaker Lloenflys as well as Senators Common-Sense Politics (CSP) and GraVandius (all of whose potential reelection campaigns were supported by over 75% of respondents in a recent EBC poll). Supreme Chancellor Lethen could potentially give the field its ninth candidate after posting in the standing thread, though it is not clear at this time whether Lethen intends to mount a serious campaign. The campaign has been particularly dominated by CSP's ideas over improving electoral engagement and reintroducing the civil service, two topics which are likely to be some of the top priorities for the upcoming Senate.
