Europeia and NBB Sign Treaty

Europeia has expanded its list of treaty allies by entering an alliance with The Region That Has No Big Banks (NBB). President UPC presented the treaty to the Senate for approval last Tuesday, stating: "NBB has been around for some time, but has only recently started engaging with gameplay in the last year or so after a long hiatus from this part of NationStates. In this time, we have developed strong ties with NBB's leadership, and have collaborated closely with them on military and World Assembly Affairs, and we played an instrumental role in the launch of their podcast last term. NBB is also a region with whom we have been sharing our recruitment tech during my tenure as President." The Senate vote has concluded to unanimously ratify the treaty.

Besides mutual defense and intelligence sharing clauses, the treaty further stipulates joint social, cultural, and infrastructure cooperation, the latter of which is unique to the technical work and resources UPC has offered Europeia and her allies since his accession 4 four terms prior.

NBB previously signed treaties with The East Pacific in October, and established embassies with The West Pacific last August.

UPC Announces Change to Europeia's Flag

After receiving a telegramme from an unknown Europeian resident, President UPC has announced changes to the colours of the Europeian flag to facilitate colourblind accessibility. UPC announced the change as preceded by "a discussion with the Cabinet, and many revisions, [after which] we have made the decision to adjust the colors on the flag flown over our gameside region." The exact colour changes (as hex codes) proposed are:

Code:
White: #fefefe
Green: #318120
Tan: #c2b280
Red: #bb1b1b
Blue: #185886
Yellow: #ffcc33

Whether the changes will extend to all Europeian iconography remains unknown at the time of reporting.

Criminal Code Subject to Senate Review

Senator Decacon aka Rand has proposed a review to Europeia's criminal code in the Senate, the motion of which has found support among a majority of Senators. Rand says: "My proposed approach is to break the Criminal Code into topical categories (e.g. high crimes, crimes of fraud, crimes of interference, etc.) and discuss these provisions in depth. Many of our crimes are similar or somewhat overlap, so I believe this approach will prove enlightening." Rand further notes that "much of [the criminal code] has existed in its current state since at least 2012."

Referenda Made Public

The proposal in the People's Assembly by GraVandius has passed the vote by a one vote margin, sending it to the Senate for consideration. Following extensive discussion in the Senate, the bill has passed by a 5 to 2 vote. The amendment makes the results of referenda publicly visible while the vote is ongoing. How the republic generally feels about this decision remains unclear, but is the subject of further elucidation by a poll from Primorye Oblast.

World Assembly

The proposal currently up for vote in the General Assembly is titled "Regulating International Transport." The proposal by author Tinhampton aims to introduce standards for international travel of people and goods by charging an "International Transport Safety Committee" with the responsibility to draft mandates and rules promoting the safety of passengers and goods as well as establishing the legal liabilities for accidents and damages. The Ministry of World Assembly Affairs has not yet recommended a vote for the proposal.

In the Security Council, no proposal is currently at vote.
