On March 6th, in the first Citizens’ Assembly Chair election since the passage of the Executive Split Omnibus Bill, only one month prior, Dictator Anna 10 (now Dax) stood unopposed as the lone candidate, and was elected shortly afterwards, going on to serve her first term in her first position in a new Europeia, forged just as her career began. Dax would serve in this role for the next 60 days before furthering her legislative resume by serving a Senate term, beginning in late June. In both of these roles, we saw Dax begin to define herself as someone interested in tackling Europeia’s problems with activity. In fact, it was her first plank of her Chair platform. In her Senate platform, she announces she is “taking the training wheels off”, and thus beginning her serious foray into Europeian government.

Of course, we aren’t here nominating Dax solely for her legislative work. No, when we think of Dax we think of her monumentally impressive work as Minister of Culture. At the same time Dax was serving her term as Senator, she earned her first nomination to be Minister of Culture from First Minister Pichtonia. This role would come to define her as she worked hard to be innovative and active, in a position that heavily rewards both. Many in the region see Culture as one of the best areas for an ambitious newcomer to thrive, as it grants many great opportunities to be out in public with their projects in a way that Interior or Foreign Affairs often fail to offer. So, someone like Dax, someone who constantly dives into Europeia’s past to bring new and refurbished cultural projects, knew not to waste this opportunity, and hand-crafted multiple splendid offerings for the region in terms of festivals such as the Million Post Palooza and Halloween, alongside the Weekend Games and smaller events like Haxball.

After two terms, Dax was in prime position to take the next step up on the ladder and become First Minister. She had earned the Order of Enlightenment for her service, been placed on the Line of Succession, and received the endorsement of the popular outgoing First Minister Pichtonia. Of course, this is not what happened, as the closest election in Europeian history found Dax just one vote short of victory. So, she returned to the Ministry of Culture under First Minister Calvin Coolidge, serving an incredibly rare third consecutive term. Dax continued to innovate, perhaps more than she had before in her previous terms, as she launched the Yule Ball, Europeia’s first-ever Discord server hosted festival. This festival was also an interregional event, planting Europeia’s high quality culture front and center on the world stage, thanks to Dax. She would also rise to become Second Minister after an unfortunate resignation from Rachael left the spot in need of a successor.

As 2019 drew to a close, we saw Dax take a truly Europeian journey: from humble newcomer in the Citizens’ Assembly to an award-winning Second Minister. Dax showed that the hope we pin on all newcomers is well-placed, and warranted when those newcomers are given opportunities and rise to occasion, we all rise with them. Even if a setback is suffered, you can’t keep a good citizen down, because they have too much to offer. Thus, I nominate Dax as Europeian of the Year for 2019. A perfect example of the best of Europeia.

Dax is one of our best and brightest and is fully deserving of this honor. :)

Dax is a phenomenal Europeian, and this is a great nomination!

Running with Dax for the end of 2019 election was such an awesome experience that really showed me how committed she is to this community - an incredible Europeian that is absolutely worthy of this nomination!

Dax is a fantastic newer member, and she'd deserve this win - though all the other nominees would deserve it as well.
