Pichtonia Nominated for Vice President Following Resignation of UPC
The Former Vice President Resigned Tuesday After Citizens Noticed a Lack of Activity

On Thursday, January 6, 2022, President Darcness submitted a vice presidential nomination for current Minister of Radio Pichtonia to the senate for consideration, as the office had been left vacant following the resignation of UPC. Pichtonia has previously held the offices of the vice chief of state and the vice presidency before, plus numerous other executive positions including the office of the president. "Pichtonia has served admirably in multiple Executive appointments," President Darcness said in a statement to the Europeian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC). "I look forward to continuing to work with him in this role." At the time of publication, the Senate has not yet voted on the nomination.
In a Grand Hall thread created on January 2, individuals noted almost "3 weeks of radio silence" from UPC, but that he had been active on his gameside nation. Soon thereafter, President Darcness posted a request to the Senate to remove UPC from the vice presidency citing multiple attempts at communication with the Vice President, but that he had received a lack of response. In an official statement from the president's office to the EBC, President Darcness said the following: "Discussions surrounding UPC's participation in the role had occurred earlier in the week, and I was waiting until our weekly Cabinet meeting on Monday as a final deadline. The Grand Hall thread let me know where the populace stood, but it didn't change the timeline."
On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, now former Vice President UPC posted his resignation from the office. In the post, he cited his personal well-being and its effect on his duties as the reasoning behind the action. This is UPC's second recent high level resignation from Europeian office. UPC's resignation came before the Senate acted upon the request from President Darcness to remove him from office.
The resignation of UPC left the position of vice president vacant, and President Darcness was then required to nominate a new citizen to the position, who is now Pichtonia. According to Pichtonia, when queried by the senate in his nomination, he will step down as minister of radio, meaning that a new nomination to that post will be required. No further details on the future nomination have yet been given.
