Republic Day Goes Amok
The Brief Reign of Supreme Leader Seva

The government of Europeia was briefly overthrown last week at the Republic Day festival, when Seva seized power after besting the challenges of each Ministry. Several Ministers appeared shell-shocked that someone had so dominated their challenges, with Radio Minister Darkslayer being seen sulking and eating a pint of Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey ice cream as he bemoaned the fall of the Republic.
First Minister McEntire was seen running from 12 Pope Lexus Lane to 34 Goldenblock Avenue to warn Chief of State Malashaan of the coming coup. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported McEntire throwing open the doors to the executive conference room, where the Council of State was deliberating while the grand fireplace roared. “Wow, I always forget how much nicer it is here than my office..” several report hearing McEntire remark. Chief of State Malashaan was unfazed and kindly escorted McEntire out of the meeting, who continued ranting and raving about the coup the entire way. Eventually the First Minister ran into the woods to, and I am told this is a direct quote, “start a new Europeia with the squirrels and birds and deer.”
At the coronation of Seva as the new Supreme Leader, an intimidated and scared crowd cheered on as he spoke to the crowd. Only a few citizens such as Ervald dared protest the coronation who were quickly shouted down by the crazed mob and escorted by members of the Supreme Leader’s security force. At his coronation, Seva decreed that minor offenders would be forced to eat beetroot constantly, republicans and blasphemers would be executed, appointed several citizens to new high positions, and more.
Following his decrees, members of the mob started to force-feed beetroot to citizens they suspected to be traitors of the monarchy and produce companies started receiving orders for durians which were decreed the official fruit of Europeia. Members of the newly established Church of Love led by High Priest Skar started to desecrate buildings belonging to the Nethelian Temple and the Shrine of Swift.
However, not long after the coronation, Attorney General Lloenflys organized a public trial to prosecute Supreme Leader Seva and re-establish the Republic. Despite Seva threatening to punish those who opposed his regime and a crazed mob of his own supporters defending his reign, several citizens still spoke out against his reign such as Ervald, First Minister McEntire, and Senator Verteger. Attorney General Lloenflys finally concluded to remove Seva from the position of Supreme Leader and be sentenced to the highest jail cell in the East Tower of Arnhelm where he would be eternally mocked and forced to listen to Taylor Swift. With this, the Republic was re-established with Monkey appointed as Defender of the Realm. In Cincinnatus fashion, Monkey resigned from his title and re-appointed officials to the positions they had before the brief reign of Seva’s.
