A Sloth Re-elected no doubt

A Sloth Re-elected no doubt
by Johnny Costello

When Sopo first ran for election back in September, he ran on terms of pulling Europeia from the depths of a dark summer slump. His message consisted of a robust foreign policy strategy, structural reform, and continual manual recruitment to pull our nation count up. This past election, Sopo ran on continuing the path he started to gear our region up for imminent structural changes.

Sopo won in September by a 45-11 gap. That is a spread of 34 votes. In December, however, Sopo took the election by 37-21 with a 16 vote spread. The margin of his spread decreased by half in this time period. Is this because his campaign was worse in quality? Was his opponent a better contender? Was this election not as active than the September presidential election? Or is it natural for incumbents to see a slight push-back when seeking re-election?

In September, the region was in an upheaval with Senators fighting hard for reform. The CA had been inactive, the Senate had been named a "comma club", and the Executive was struggling as nobody had the time or energy to run bureaucratic institutions. Sopo's leadership this past term encouraged the the Senate to dig deeper into reforms that were started before his September election and the executive to become a lively fighting force for the region.

With the gap of Sopo's support decreasing by 50%, is the election of the Sloth at danger or could feasibly Sopo run a third campaign in a row? Be noted that Sopo's platform only got 36 replies in December and 64 in September, showing another 50% drop as well albeit in activity. In fair comparison Izzy, the opponent to Sopo in September, had 50 replies while Punchwood, Sopo's December contender, only had 22 replies. Voting only rose by 2% in this time-span.
