On Thursday 3rd December, shortly after Darkslayer and Pichtonia had released their platforms, 4,000 words conducted the first pre-election poll of this election. The poll opened in the afternoon of that same day and ran for a little over 24 hours, attracting 31 responses. The first question received 2 fewer votes than the rest of the questions due to an issue with the poll shortly after its release.
At this time, it is impossible to make a safe prediction on who is going to win. Our poll puts Pichtonia ahead by one vote, a very slim margin that he could lose in a matter of hours. Darkslayer/Calvin Coolidge received 12 votes, or 41.4% of the vote share, while Pichtonia/Kuramia garnered 13 votes or 44.8% of the vote share. Only four respondents indicated that they were unsure about who to vote for, illustrating that most people have made up their minds, something that will be reaffirmed in the next question. Re-Open Elections receives no votes.
The next question asked poll-takers to state how likely they were to vote for their candidate. Very likely received 7 votes, likely 17, unsure 6, and doubtful 1. Since "likely" received the majority of votes here, people are likely satisfied with who they wish to vote for. Still, there is potential for them to swing the other way if the opposing candidate performs well in the campaigning period.
64.5% of respondents stated that they were satisfied with the current candidates, with only three respondents saying they were unsatisfied with the current field. Finally, the poll asked respondents to state who else they would like to see run. SkyGreen24 got the most votes here, with four people saying they would like to run. Lethen, Xecrio, and Istillian got two votes each. The other names to feature here were Whatermelons, Onderkelkia, Olde Delaware, Sopo, Prim, Seva, and Monkey all with one vote each.
