Rising Star Profile: Phoenix

Rising Star Profile: Phoenix
A Look at the Newest PA Chair

Written by Sanjurika

Recently elected People’s Assembly Chair, @Phoenix has grabbed the attention of many Europeian citizens. Campaigning as a political newcomer, his platform focused on making the People’s Assembly (PA) as accessible as possible to all. Despite the budding Europeian track record, however, Phoenix is no newcomer to the wider NationStates world, having been involved in NS in some form or another for over 10 years. After first joining NationStates in 2006, it wasn’t until roughly 2010 to 2013 that they became invested in the game. Phoenix joins Europeia with a breadth of political and legislative experience, particularly from the Union of Democratic States (UDS) where they are currently President.

Phoenix has been aware of Europeia since at least 2018 when Thatcher, the founder of the UDS and a former Europeian citizen, first brought the region to his attention. Phoenix says that Thatcher often spoke highly of the Europeian community. This eventually led Phoenix to first apply for citizenship in 2018, although their commitments to the UDS eventually led them to lose it. This time around, though, seems to be different. Phoenix cites his experience in the UDS and in other legislative bodies that uniquely sets him up to hit the ground running. This fresh outlook also makes Europeia’s sometimes fierce competition all the more exciting.

Discussing his future in Europeia, Phoenix says he would love to eventually become a Senator and branch out to the executive and the cabinet… and perhaps even the Presidency? The sky is the limit in Europeia, and Phoenix is a prime example of a newcomer capable of breathing fresh air into our community.

When not playing NationStates, Phoenix loves gaming. Particularly roleplaying games like D&D. Phoenix also enjoys the outdoors, although maybe not as much right now, given the summer weather.

This is a very nice read. It's wonderful to hear Phoenix has hopes of contributing to Euro in the Senate and the executive as well beyond their work in the PA!
