Over the last few days and hours we have bore witness to an extraordinary debate. One that tapped deep into our senses of right and wrong. Our natural inclinations to forgive, and to forget. Our desires to hold a grudge against a foe who previously wronged us.

The Administrative Team has dealt with this issue since it first became an issue. We understand the nuances of this affair as much as we understand the complexity and the division is brought to our shores.

The choice we made was after hearing testimony from Aex, after reading arguments from both sides, and noting the deeds committed within the last few days and weeks.

As of a few days ago a majority of the Administrative Team supported allowing Aex to return. This was immediately after his testimony to Lethen and I. However, affairs quickly became much more complicated with the post made by Anumia and a strong opposition from Asianatic.

It was not the rubbish statements made by the Kodiak that changed my opinion, but rather the forging of a conversation with Fioteria by Aex. A prime argument from his supporters is that he can bear no harm to Europeia, and that he has obviously changed his ways. This event flies in the face of that thesis and disturbs me greatly.

A decision of this magnitude must encompass many things. I am one who often is willing to give second chances, but it is clear in my eyes that Aex has not changed nor reformed in the slightest. If we allowed him new entry we would be not only condoning the reckless behavior that he has engaged in in the past, but also the misdeeds he persists on doing at this very moment.

I have been on the fence for the last few hours, however after confirmation that Hampshire King, Fioteria, that Aex did indeed forge a conversation in order to gain access to Hampshire despite the opposition of the King there, I cannot, in good conscience end the ban subjugating Aexnidaral at this time. This deed shows nothing but continued intent to do whatever it takes to reach his ends, and I simply cannot endorse such a spirit returning to this region when the aforementioned fact may very allude to him lying about his porn spam involvement, and anything else we may have been told in hopes or garnering our support.

Hence, as of July 29th, 2010 the ban stated Here shall continue to be upheld.

Anyways... thank God this is over. euro.gif

I agree completely. Thank you.

My opinion on this issue still stands. HE never committed a crime in this region and was treated unfairly. That's all I'll be saying about that.

He violated laws of our region, if that's what you mean.

I am speaking as a private citizen, in my own capacity.

I know that the Administrative Team has the best interests of Europeia in mind, including its security. This is why I support and respect its decision.

The Administrative Team one admin does not comprise...which is why I'll give you all my take on this.

When this issue first arose about three weeks after his ban, I dismissed it outright. HEM, Lex, Anumian, and myself reached a concensus of sorts that we would not remove the ban. The issue subsided.

Probably...two weeks ago, Old Ogastein contacted me on MSN about unbanning Aex to have a trial. I said I'd consider it, and found HEM asap on MSN to bring the topic up. As I made clear, I did not want him unbanned. We listened to Aex's side of the story: I considered it. HEM was in favor of unbanning, arguing that even NES said we should unban him. I didn't want to budge; I talked to Aex in private...perhaps I would give him a second chance.

I consulted with PhDre. Again, I was very tepid about the whole thing. A few days ago, I was talking to HEM and PhDre about this when I decided to also consult Karputsk. He had a somewhat similar situation in the sense that his return was a contested issue, though clearly he is not as volatile as our friend Aex.

I think this is the intersection that I was presented with. In talking to PhDre, HEM and I were considering the whole thing. I think we both settled, hesitantly I might add, on the idea that we would unban Aex to boost activity. Afterall, I've always said that controversy breeds activity. Personally, as well, I wanted to unban him but still make sure he went through the application, the EIA security check, and approval from the Interior Minister (and then, if wanted, a trial). Either way, I was ambivalent.

Talking to Karp, however, I solidified my opinion of no. There was no major rush to tell HEM though, since he was offline, and I figured that we'd get around to the topic again. We'd been putting off releasing any statement for a good few days anyway, so why rush? I asked Karp alot of questions...how he felt coming back, how he felt being kicked out, what his thoughts were, and his opinions on Aex. He advised strongly against it; that, coupled with Anumia's report for the Foreign Office, made me say no.

I've yet to tell Aexnidaral this, and I never did get a chance to consult HEM, but I thought thats what everyone should hear. It was a difficult decision.
