Executive End-of-Term and Senate Mid-Term Satisfaction Poll March 2024

Executive End-of-Term and Senate Mid-Term Satisfaction Poll March 2024
Results and Analysis

Written by Sincluda & Lime

The EBC ran a combined Executive End of Term and Senate Mid-term satisfaction poll between March 14 and March 20. The poll received a total of 21 respondents, a notably lower respondent rate than is usual. A possible explanation for the lower than usual response rate may have been respondent fatigue, given that the poll was released very shortly after two Presidential election polls, and just a day before voting opened in the aforementioned Presidential election. As usual with polls conducted in Europeia, it must be noted that this poll was not conducted scientifically and should therefore be treated with caution. The lower than usual response rate is further reason why the results should be taken with caution and be interpreted as a rough guide only, and not an accurate reflection of Europeian's feelings.

Overall Senate Satisfaction - 61.9%
  • It's doing well although inactive due to the constitution convention
  • Feel more inactive than anything.
  • We have a Senate?
  • Somehow less active than the constitutional convention
  • Almost completely dead. Really disappointing given that many of the current Senators are usually excellent Senators and would receive top marks from me. The newer/less experienced Senators as well had high expectations and have unfortunately not delivered.

Halfway through the term, the 93rd Senate receives slightly favorable ratings, but not without issue. Although only 4 out of 21 respondents indicated dissatisfaction, 5 left comments noting a lack of activity within the walls of the Senatia. This could be, as one commenter indicates, because of the ongoing Constitutional Convention. Despite these criticisms, the Senate still earned a respectable 23.8% “very satisfied” rating to go with the 38.1% satisfied respondents.

Speaker Cordova I - 81%
  • Good efficient administrator
  • Cordova is very ambitious and tries to be active.
  • A bit more active than the others but that's not saying much.

Speaker Cordova I comes out with the highest satisfaction rating of any senator at 81%. Over half of the responses said they were very satisfied with the Speaker's work, while only 4.8% were dissatisfied and 14.3% only neutral. The remaining 28.6% were just satisfied. Cordova I seems to be a natural fit for the Speaker position, as comments expressed their appreciation for his activity and competence as an administrator.

Senator Fillet Minion - 47.6%
  • Havent really noticed
  • Not seen at all really.
  • good work for a first term

Senator Fillet Minion has had a middling first term according to poll-takers, landing just under 50% satisfaction at 47.6%. The youngest member of the 93rd Senate received 14.3% dissatisfied responses and 4.3% very dissatisfied. He still has some appreciators, though, with one commenter applauding their work for a first term, as well as getting 28.6% satisfied responses and 19% very satisfied. Fillet minion might be poised for a major rebound on the second half of the term, as the plurality 33.3% neutral respondents might flip satisfied if he addresses activity concerns.

Senator Istillian - 76.2%
  • Active senator that contributes
  • Hasnt done anything to distinguish himself.
  • Going to give a satisfied rating since he has been at least a bit more active and has proposed and started some discussions.

The second-best performing Senator at the midterm is Istillian, clocking in with 42.9% very satisfied responses and 33.3% satisfied. The unsatisfied responses split into 14.3% neutral and 9.5% dissatisfied, with nobody saying they were "very dissatisfied" with the Senator. The highest vote-getter in the general election, Istillian received appreciation for his activity and substantive contributions, although one commenter noted that they didn't think he has stood out from the rest of the Senate.

Senator Lime - 66.6%
  • A bit inactive this term
  • Have not been able to see much
  • Again given a satisfied rating since he's a bit more active and has proposed and started a discussion.

At 66.6% satisfaction, Lime seems to be having a respectable term as Senator. 47.6% of respondents said they were satisfied with his work thus far, whereas 14.3% felt indifferent. Both the dissatisfied and very dissatisfied shares turn up at 19%. With few neutral responses and the T-2nd highest dissatisfaction rating (despite high satisfaction), this suggests mixed and varying opinions on Lime's term. This is reflected in the comments, where some feel that he has been inactive, whereas another person praises his activity and starting of the court reform discussion.

Senator Pichtonia - 66.6%
  • Not that active
  • Not really able to see what they have done.
  • His posts in the confirmation threads are some of his only posts. Simply hasn't been there as a Senator.

Pichtonia receives a near-identical rating to Lime, but with one neutral response turning into a dreaded "very dissatisfied". Despite the polarization in the polls and relatively good satisfaction, all three comments agree that inactivity outside of confirmation threads have been an issue for the Senator. Although its the opinion of only 3 poll-takers, and although Pichtonia obtains a good rating regardless, more visible activity is clearly something desired from the Senator.

Senator SkyGreen - 47.6%
  • Really not visible at all or involved in discussions, any posts made don't contribute much if anything to the discussion.

Former Speaker SkyGreen leaves this poll with less than favorable results. Satisfaction, a split between 14.3% very satisfied and 33.3% satisfied, only totals at 47.6%. 19% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the Senator, and 4.3% said they were very dissatisfied with his performance. One poll taker even marked "Don't know", making SkyGreen the only Senator with this result on their chart. The culprit behind these results once more seems to be inactivity, as a commenter feels that the Senator has failed to make substantive contributions to this 6-person Senate.

Overall Executive Satisfaction - 85.7%
  • As well as can be given it is JD's last term
  • Executive has done decent but ministries havent been up to par.
  • It was chugging along nicely.

The executive as a whole receives strong feedback from respondents with an overall approval rating of 85.7%, 28.6% of which was strong approval. 9.5% were neutral while the remaining 4.8% cited disapproval. The comments generally support the overall approval rating with commenters noting the Executive has preformed well, but there is perhaps a slight lukewarm feel with two of the comments suggesting a slight decline in performance even if overall performance remains strong.

President JayDee - 57.1%
  • Has been putting effort in but should be putting more on the ministers to get things done.
  • Maybe we needed a press secretary
  • He was doing fine keeping things moving, though it just didn't feel like there was much of a drive this term compared to the others. Probably should have stepped down after term 2, there just wasn't a clear drive after that. Very annoyed that he allowed WAA to continue to fall by not firing an inactive Minister, he didn't seem interested in spending the time and energy necessary to help WAA.

JayDee gets generally positive marks from respondents with a 57.1% approval rating and just 9.5% citing disapproval with his performance as President. Notably however, a third of respondents said that they had a neutral view of JayDee's performance, suggesting a somewhat lukewarm view of his term as President. The comments note JayDee's effort as President, but perhaps highlighting that lukewarm feeling suggest this term was slower than others with reference to specific Ministries.

Vice President Vor - 80.9%
  • GO VOROLLAH GO
  • Vor has done decently and is active.
  • Appeared to be an active and involved VP. I think this role suits Vor quite well.

Impressively, not a single respondent indicated dissatisfaction with Vor’s term as Vice President, with only 4 out of 21 (19%) responses being “Neutral” rather than satisfied. Out of these satisfied respondents, about 40% of them were impressed enough to click “Very Satisfied” on the poll. Consistent with the midterm poll, much of this satisfaction comes from Vor’s high activity.

Minister of Communications ICH - 95.2%
  • Very active minister
  • ICH has done a fantastic job and getting others involved.
  • Fantastic Comms Minister. The EBC was producing regular fantastic work, and ICH led his Ministry by actively being involved in the writing process.

Speaking of activity, commenters believe that that has led ICH to a 95.4% approval rating for his work as Minister of Communications. A majority of respondents were “Very Satisfied” (not just satisfied!) with the EBC’s chief last term at 57.1%. The only unsatisfied response was not dissatisfied or even neutral, but rather a “Don’t know”. Even if the poll does not read 100%, ICH can just about claim he had a “perfect” term.

Minister of Culture Ellenburg - 81%
  • Been on a roll with helping planning for the events this past term.
  • Very active minister
  • i love ellenburg
  • I wasn't involved in any of the festivals or events, but they all appeared to go well and were well received.

Ellenburg receives impressive marks from respondents with not a single dissatisfied rating, and a very strong 81% approval rating, with 42.9% of respondents stating they were very satisfied. Just 14.3% said they were neutral and a tiny 4.7% said they didn't know. The comments for Ellenburg likely explain this very high approval rating, with commenters praising the events and festivals run by Culture and noting that Ellenburg is a helpful and active Minister.

Minister of Foreign Affairs UPC - 66.6%
  • I don't really know what's been going on in FA
  • ambassador assignments where :(
  • He has ambassadors that could be used but hasnt trained or leveraged them.
  • It's difficult to know given there wasn't much communication. Obviously FA is always a difficult Ministry to judge since most of its work is behind the scenes, but it'd have been good to release more than just an Opening Address.

UPC’s work as Minister of Foreign Affairs brought mostly positive poll results, yet not without some issues. While achieving a satisfaction rating of 66.6%, the share of “Very Satisfied” responses is relatively low (although still respectable), and there was some indication of discontent in the comments (reflected by 14.3% a dissatisfaction rating in the poll). Behind this share of disapproval? The age-old problem in Foreign Affairs, transparency, coupled with empty-handed ambassadors. Despite the critical comments, the results themselves remain rather positive, with ⅔ of poll-takers indicating their satisfaction with UPC.

Minister of Outreach Sincluda - 85.7%
  • The recruitment contest was exciting, and the ministry's seen a lot of recruitment telegrams sent out this term.
  • phenomenal jobbie
  • N/A
  • Looks like the Ministry did a fantastic job last term and Sincluda was actively involved in making it happen.

Sincluda is another who received extremely high marks from respondents, with a very impressive 85.7% approval rating almost half of which is very satisfied responses at 47.6%. Neutral, dissatisfied and don't know each received 4.7% apiece. The comments once again give strong clues about why Sincluda achieved such a high approval ratings, with the comments noting high recruitment numbers, a successful recruitment contest and Sincluda's own active involvement as Minister.

Attorney General Calvin Coolidge - 38.1%
  • N/A
  • Is the AG even a Minister/Minister of Justice this term? I don't think it was so would be unfair to judge.

Calvin Coolidge has an interesting set of responses, just 38.1% approved of his term with a clear plurality at 47.6% stating they were neutral. 9.5% said they didn't know and the remaining 4.8% said they disapproved of his term. The results are perhaps not that surprising given the unclear role the Attorney General plays in Cabinet to Cabinet, with one commenter even questioning if the Attorney General also assumed a Ministerial role and if not it would unfair to judge his performance.

Minister of Gameside Pudimlland - 80.9%
  • SILLY CARS
  • N/A
  • I haven't paid attention to Gameside this term so I cannot fairly judge his work.

In a slightly shortened first term in Cabinet, Pudimlland did not disappoint. Lacking any dissatisfaction in this poll, his work managing Gameside notched 80.9% approval. This strong showing from the first-term Minister should keep him on the shortlist for the position for many future presidents.

Grand Admiral Darcness - 28.5%
  • somewhat invisible
  • Darcness isn't really around or involved in the ERN. I've never seen him make any announcements or organize literally anything.
  • N/A
  • Maybe Darcness has been occupying the diplomacy role of GA this term which is mainly behind the scenes, and delegated the task of leading our forces to others, namely Vor. I think this would be perfectly acceptable if he announced this was the case, instead it's just unclear what Darc has contributed as GA this term as it generally looks like he was absent from the role.

Darcness's results are perhaps the most interesting of all, with a clear majority stating neither approval nor disapproved instead providing a neutral verdict. 61.9% of respondents said they had a neutral view of Darcness's performance, 28.5% said they approved, while the remaining 9.6% said they disapproved in some fashion. Such high neutral results are unusual in approval polls, but especially so for what is widely regarded as one of the most senior and high profile positions in Europeia. Possibly a lack of visability as Grand Admiral is the reason for such high neutral responses with almost all the comments noting that Darcness wasn't visible as Grand Admiral or did not appear active within the ERN.

Minister of Radio Grea Kriopia - 100%
  • Very active minister
  • thank you for returning morvo
  • Really turned radio around!
  • Has been doing a great job of using radio.
  • Did an excellent job of reviving Radio this term. Good to see her actively leading the Ministry, and it was great to have such a wide variety of shows from cultural to political.

Grea Kriopia is by far the strongest performer in the entire poll, outperforming even ICH's outstanding 95.2% approval rating. Grea Kriopia received an astonishing 100% approval rating, three thirds of which was strong approval at 76.2% with the remaining 23.8% citing approval. The comments echo this incredible performance, noting Grea Kriopia's activite performance as Minister, the return of the Morvo Show and general return of Radio activity.

Minister of World Assembly Affairs John Laurens - 23.8%
  • was dealt an unwinnable hand - shout out fm for stepping up bigly
  • Inactive minister not ready to head a ministry. JL simply does not have the time and is not ready for cabinet
  • struggled a bit in the beginning but overall fantastic minister
  • Every vote announcement is late or never happened. There is zero consistent strategy.
  • Have not seen John Laurens very active and reaching out to the WAD to advise how to vote.
  • He should have been fired early on in the term. He just hasn't been active or led the Ministry at all this term, and should have been fired at the start but when he had RL issues and still wasn't let go was unacceptable. Considering Lime quit and later was sacked for these issues, and yet still did a better job seems to highlight that MoWAA wasn't a priority for this administration and it just didn't care about its decline.

From one extreme to another, John Laurens is by far the Minister with the highest disapproval rating at 71.4% with almost a quarter of respondents stating they were very dissatisfied at 23.8%. Just 23.8% said they approved of John Laurens performance in some way, with the remaining 4.8% saying they were neutral on his performance. While two comments gave some encouragement to John Laurens with one saying he was "dealt an unwinnable hand" most of the comments reflect his poor performance amongst respondents. Many of the comments said that John Laurens was inactive as Minister, with one even going so far as to say he should have been fired as a Minister.

Which Cabinet members would you like to see return next term?

Leading the back with an extremely impressive 90.5% is former Radio Minister Grea Kriopia. This is perhaps unspringing given a 100% approval rating, three quarters of which was very satisfied. Similarly, upc, ICH, Ellenburg and Sincluda all receive above 70% here, likely due to their high approval ratings. However, there is a step decline here with no other Cabinet Minister reaching over 40% let alone 50% support. While this is perhaps unsurprising for Calvin Coolidge, Darcness and John Laurens given neutral feeling towards the former two and the latter's high dissatisfaction ratings, Pudimlland had an 80% approval rating but just 33.3% said they wanted to see them return to Cabinet. Possibly Pudimlland's gameside focus is a detriment in a poll taken mainly by forumside users.

Who else would you like to see in Cabinet and in which position?
  • fm/west/maowi in waa, gk in culture, air in outreach
  • cord, maowi, sin
  • Istillian, Lime, JayDee,Vor
  • Myself
  • WESTINOR TOP SHELF
  • Lime, Istillian, Air, Igualla, Fillet minion

A wide variety of names are mentioned here. Fillet minion, Istillian, Lime, Maowi, Westinor and Airmadecat are all mentioned twice, while Grea Kriopia, Cordova, Sincluda, JayDee, Vor and Igualla all have one mention each. An anonymous Europeian called "Myself" was also mentioned.
