Headline of the month: Civil War heats up more and more

Civil War Heats Up

|| The fight against the rebel group 'Sturmphoenix' has officially been declared a civil war by the government, after reports came in that more than 5.000 people, some being ex-military, have joined the cause of Sturmphoenix in the last week. Things heated up more and more after an attack on the Nekravol shipyard was launched by Sturmphoenix, in an effort to destroy, or even capture, the ships anchoring there for repairs/maintenance.
Fortunately, the attack got repelled by local forces, who managed to capture 70 out of the 150 attackers. Ever since, rebel forces have set up a camp near Nekravol, therefore it is advised to only leave the house to get essentials.

Further south, near the capital Argent D'Nur, things look different. Here, rebels have managed to capture a small village, transforming it into a fort and having taken hostages, including pregnant women, elderly people and children. As of now, negotiations to free said hostages are going on, however, as Kommandant Heinrich von Hohenstett stated: "Negotiating with these rebels, who should be considered terrorists honestly, is pointless. [...] I would give the order to level the village to free these people, but high command prohibits me from doing so."
While the Commanders words are partially true, hope to free these hostages is not lost yet.

Going to the west, the city of Hebeth has been attacked also by rebel forces, who used stolen military equipment from a nearby outpost, including APC's, trucks, and countless firearms. The military already engaged in combat with the rebels, however, the situation is looking grim for the armed forces, who not only have to fight the rebels, but also try their best to evacuate civilians.

In the east, in cities like Maers and Nova, the military conducted several raids on warehouses containing rebel forces, getting rid of rebel activity there for the time being.

Unfortunately, this is all we have regarding this topic since no more information could be gathered. However, we will keep you up to date on a weekly basis.

Ape Kills Tiger

|| A video of a tiger being killed by an orangutan has gone viral across media in the Kingdom. Made and send to the national documentary service, was the video by a man named Felix Reiter, who was having a picnic with his family at Hohenzollern national park on the island of Neu Deutschland, a place inhabited by many wild animals, including tigers and orangutans.
After being confirmed to be real, the nature channel Wildes Argenta showed the video in their latest documentary, and immediately people went crazy.
The video began like most, Mister Reiter was filming the scenery at the park and his family, before swinging over to the right, where a rustling was heard in the bushes.
At first no one thought anything about, since it was quite windy that day, however, the family realized quickly that something was wrong after hearing the typical alarm sound of a water deer herd nearby.

What happened next marked the family and left them shocked. An Argenta tiger lunged at the family, but was intercepted by a makeshift spear thrown by an orangutan, which was later identified to be called "Tebonikus", a former lab ape who grew up with humans and learned quite a few things.
According to Misses Reiter, and the video, Tebonikus didn't hesitate to "brutally murder the tiger by stabbing it with his spear multiple times", which seemed to have scared five-year-old Mira Reiter, who can be heard crying throughout the end of the video.

Unfortunately, the video ended after the attack, leaving us in the dark of what the orangutan did afterwards, only a picture was taken, showing Tebonikus holding his "weapon" and looking at the family.

Mysterious Murders In Dunkelwald Forest

|| WARNING: Following content may be disturbing to some viewers; it is therefore advised to not view this article if you are more sensitive.

Police forces were called one night to investigate strange screams coming from the Dunkelwald forest, one of the most dangerous places in the Kingdom, last night. Upon arrival, they found a truly gruesome scene. Three corpses were found, each more brutally mutilated than the last.

Victim #1, who was barely identified as the twenty-year-old vet assistant Josephine Baum, had her spine ripped out clean from her back, her left eyeball has been, presumably, smashed out of her head with extreme precision, her canine teeth were pulled out of her mouth, deforming her face to a bloody mess and her right pinky finger bone has been removed.
Victim #2, also barely identified as the twenty-five-year-old Victor Belize, had his skull split open and his brain, as well as his left eyeball, removed.
Victim #3, who couldn't be identified, had, according to the police, the worst death. Their whole ribcage has been ripped out of their body, leaving only a bloody mess of tissue and organs. Furthermore, their left eyeball has also been removed, as well as their canine teeth, liver, bowel, nose, tongue, and parts of their spine. It is speculated that, taking the reported screams into account, victim #3 was alive during their death, but it is not safe to say.

While the police continue to investigate and search for the murderer, we have asked people from a nearby village about what could have happened:
"I'm telling you, it were the Seelen. They've been roaming this forest for ages." Exclaims 73-year-old widow Magdalena Schmitt.
"The Seelen, it must have been them. Who else would be so brutal?" Exclaims 45-year-old hunter Arthur Schnitt, who also claims to have had an ecnounter with a Seele.

For those who do not know yet, the Seelen (Eng.: Souls) are the spirits of killed children and pregnant women who were murdered without remorse and never had a proper burial, therefore their souls, manifested into a creature straight from a nightmare, roaming around the dark forests of the Kingdom, seeking revenge on everyone. This myth became popular during the Second World War, as many children, men and women got killed during Japanese attacks and ever had a real funeral.
While many people don't believe in the Seelen, the inhabitants of Dunkelwald forest continue to blame these spirits, and warn everyone entering the forest.

Nuclear Power Plant Completes Construction

|| Last week, the Kingdom's newest nuclear power plant completed construction, raising the number of these power plants to ten across the Kingdom. The power plant lays 250 kilometers east of the city of Bismarck and completely supplies the city and its 1.3 million inhabitants with electricity.
While many see this as positive, a good majority of people see this as just another danger to the local nature and nearby settlements, claiming that "a second Chernobyl is bound to happen soon".
Luckily no such accident has occurred in the Kingdom to this day, and according to experts, will never happen.

With this new addition, nuclear energy will make up to 17% of the total national energy production.
In addition, a new end storage for the nuclear waste is currently under construction, the location has not been revealed though, to prevent sabotages, especially with the current rebel situation.
