UEPU Attacked by Raider Unity, First Defender Response Books Solid Progress

Monday January 22, 2024 - The United Economic Prosperity Union, better known as UEPU, has been invaded by the Raider Unity coalition. The operation was led by The Black Hawks and assisted by the Brotherhood of Malice, Lone Wolves United, and other raider-affiliated regions. UEPU is a self-described pacifist region with a strong anti-raider sentiment, which was growing quickly ever since its inception as a Frontier. The region is known for allowing displaced nations from other regions to establish their home there, but has now come under threat of the same raiders that have victimised some of their residents' prior communities.
This invasion marks the first time since the Magna Aurea occupation that LWU has worked together with BoM, reinforcing prior analyses of LWU's inability to separate itself from BoM's undertakings, no matter their supposed disagreements.
The Europeian Republican Navy has deployed its forces together with its Defender allies to strike at the hold on the region. Due to a significant native presence and a large showing from the Defender faction, the first siege effort has assembled over 100 WA nations inside the region, leaving a gap of about 50 between the defenders and raiders in UEPU. A pile of 140 liberators has since been amassed in a second siege on the region, though raiders have pulled auxiliary forces from the Communist Bloc and other regions to maintain the 50-nation gap. The next update will be a General Assembly Resolution passage update, which hurts efforts to liberate regions - but this liberation remains perhaps the highest turnout for defending so far in many months, if not years.
The coming days will decide the fate of UEPU; will we see another community destroyed at the hands of Raider Unity, or will Defenders succeed in a swift liberation effort?
