December Presidential Election Coverage

The election has now begun, with four tickets running:
  • Mousebumples/Malashaan
  • Notolecta/Calvin Coolidge
  • Prometheus32/Santa Costa Island
  • Seven Deaths/Rach

Currently,Mousebumples' ticket is in the lead with four votes, Notolecta has two votes, Seven Deaths has one, and Prometheus has zero. We will be covering this election as it develops, with panel discussion and more results to come.

Roughly one hour into the race, Mousebumples has six votes, Notolecta has three, Seven Deaths has one, and Prometheus32 has zero. We now go to our panel for commentary.

Noto ran a superb campaign, without the gratuitous brusqueness that has hindered some of his past efforts. Mouse was simply unbeatable -- and for good reason.
 
Two hours into the election, the vote count is now:

Three hours into the election, the vote count is now:

Six hours into the election, the vote count is now:

Will we see a runoff? Mousebumples is currently holding steady with 58.8% of the vote, but a few more votes for the opposing candidates could take us into some rare territory.

The Mousebumples ticket led this race from the start, and never let go of the lead, so it is no surprise that this race ended in such a landslide.

You predicted the election? Obviously this means you rigged the whole thing.
 
17% voted against the current political direction that Europeia has been undertaking in recent months. While not a major number, that is from a campaign that was put together as a 'joke' of sorts. A campaign that didn't have its Presidential candidate answer too many questions, if any, in their platform thread. In my eyes, that indicates a slight apathy for this new Government before even starting. For Mouse, it'll take a good strong start to convince the apathy to go away.

Also for Prometheus32 and Santa Costa Island, its a shame that you didn't gain any votes but it was uphill from the very start for you guys. If you need any advice in the future, or want to discuss Europeia, feel free to send a Personal Message via this forum. Otherwise, hope to see you guys involved as perhaps Assistant Ministers to start! Culture is always a decent spot to start - always stuff to do there.
 
They didn't even vote for themselves.
 
I unfortunately feel we won't be seeing much of them on the forums, as much as I would have wanted them to continue their journey.
