EuroVoice: New Constitution?

New Constitution?

Between Mayor HEM's revival of the City Council and the Senate finally getting back on track, Europeia's legislatures have one thing in common: Constitutional discussions. The discussions are still in the early stages, but they represent Europeians' desire to see change come to their government. If the Senate has been able to prove anything this term, it is that the current Constitution is turning into a monster, and most people are content simply feeding the beast. Perhaps the best solution is a new governing document. It certainly isn't a bad discussion to be having.

A new Constitution presents a great opportunity for both the Senate and the City Council. The CC has already proved its usefulness, providing solid critique of Oliver Grey's Constitution V. Swakistek has also introduced his own version of Constitution V in the Senate. Passage of either Ollie's Constitution V or Swak's Constitution V would create a decent amount of work for the Senate. Whether or not that is a positive thing will be up to the Senators themselves- they can either embrace the opportunity or flub it up entirely. Both documents have their strong points, with Ollie's tending more minimalist and Swak's serving as a compromise between Ollie's and the existing Constitution.

What does this mean for the average Europeian, you ask? Everything! The Constitution is the very heart of our government. All citizens should get involved in this process. Not a Senator or a member of the CC? Anyone can join the CC, and Senate elections are always right around the corner. Of course, news outlets and the Grand Hall make for a great soapbox, and you can also join the EBC staff and post your own article here! There are so many ways to have your voice heard; the possibilities are endless!

An excellent article! Both informative and promoting involvement!
