With the commencement of current Senator and Minister for the Interior Asperta's Ovation ceremony in the Goldenblock this evening, the EBC felt it proper to assess the blossoming career of this Europeian.
Asperta the Citizen
Asperta joined Europeia on the 17th of May 2010. In the 8 months or so that he has been here, Asperta has been a journalist, legislator, soldier, recruiter, minister, and much more. Not long after his arrival, Asperta had founded The Informer, his own news outlet in the region. This cultural involvement in Europeia would continue with intended involvement in Role-plays and his own recruitment competition, the Europeian Cup.
Not only has he involved himself in Europeia's cultural life, but also in its military. A leader of our naval forces now, Asperta has risen through the ranks to become one of the most depended upon soldiers. Yet Asperta started earning fame as a Junior Minister for the Interior; this will be expanded later, but shows his humble beginnings. Joining the City Council, he could begin a legislative career. As a shining example of citizen involvement from the start, it seems that his rise to fame was inevitable!
Asperta the Legislator
One of the first topics Asperta ever posted in Europeia was a question on term-limits. In 2009's infamous September Presidential election, this issue was one of the questions for the Presidential debate. Here we saw Asperta at the start in the manner that he continued, inquisitive yet never arrogant. Beginning in the City Council, Asperta proposed new acts to regulate elections and campaigning, issues at the heart of Europeian culture.
His enthusiasm earned him a seat in the Senate before long and he has won three Senate elections in his short career to date. Several of Asperta's proposals have failed to reach the voting stages, however, this has never stopped him. Every proposal has been made with great intent and his continuing work to provide activity and debate in the Senate cannot be overlooked. Practical and new ideas have been proposed; Asperta the Legislator has done much good.
Asperta the Minister
In 8 short months, Europeia rose from a region of 540 nations to over 900. Records began to tumble until it became odd if a week went past and a new milestone wasn't reached. Now poised to reach 1000 nations, Europeia finds itself in a position that less than 5 user-created regions have ever reached. Now a recipient of the Order of the Community, First Class, Asperta has joined Asianatic and myself as one who has sent over 10,000 telegrams to reach this goal.
It takes someone truly remarkable to help maintain a region's population. As Gates the God, founder of the largest UCR for the longest period, believed; a region could expect to loose 10% of its population daily. To maintain this and nearly double the population takes something truly spectacular, and to do it almost single-handedly, is almost impossible. There is no way to express the level of thanks owed to Asperta by Europeia.
Military leader, cultural developer, practical legislator, recruitor extraordinaire. The Honourable Asperta could be described as any of these and more.
